This is super biased and in no way based on charts and etc (I don't really know enough about those, but weren't Sistar digital monsters omg where did they go in that list),,, anyways these just some songs that I basically spent my teen years listening to:

i'm a little confused by the chart. was it just by sales or did people from melon just handpick the best songs from the 2010s?

anyhow, i would've at least put these three, as well as the songs jiyo posted above me.

I was also sort of confused by the lack of Sistar and other popular GG hits...However apparently it's based on cumulative digitals/streams. Over the entire 10 years. Therefore some songs that were huge hits in the year that they came out perhaps were not listened to constantly over the years on Melon platform by the public.

i guess so! i know likes on melon aren't everything, but i did check sistar's likes for their biggest songs, and they're most around the 60-80k range. while songs on that list are well over 100k-200k likes. so weird. i wasn't too focused on charts back then, so i'm assuming sistar didn't have too much longevity other than the summer season? most of the big hits that aren't on here were before streaming became really big, so that makes for an interesting conversation, lol. especially in the case of roly-poly.

Considering Melon held its first award show in 2009. I'm assuming streaming was pretty big (or significant enough to matter) in Korea by then or afterwards.

Usually when we think longevity we're mainly thinking over the span a year or maybe even two years. I think Sistar did have that. But as far as longevity stretching more than two years with relative amounts of downloads and streams, I guess not. 

And it seems in Korea (on Melon) summer is the least popular when it comes to seasonal songs.

 

 

 

OT: The decade before had more Kpop songs...the 2010s  only 1/4 is Kpop songs....with Melon new reform, what will Kpop look like on the next Top 100 o.o

BUT I SWEAR I DIDN'T SEE THIS ONE

It was such a huge hit! A karaoke hit too! People are still singing this! It won't die. 

You had idols and celebrities posting covers of it.

 

It is the BIGGEST BigBang solo song. He wasn't even able to top this song when he released White Night in 2017. Everyone was expecting him to top ENL but he could never top it. 

Personally, I consider it one of the top idol songs and I rarely listen to it.

Which I guess that's also something to consider...idols of course are going to be interested and look up to other idols. However this doesn't necessarily mean the public have the same taste(long-term).

I saw Bang Bang Bang and stopped reading. I...get why it's a hit I guessbut there's better BB songs that came out in the 2010s that were hits with the public and fans. omg i completely forgot about this song. it was so huge. 

now you got me reminiscing over wedding dress and i need a girl! they were like... the sentimental asian-american fuckboy anthem (it was strangely very big in the viet community, lmao.). i was only nine and was the awkward and nerdy asian, but istg it made me want to sweep someone off their feet

One of my college friends from Zimbabwe heard this song and recommended this song to me after he found I was a kpop fan. I...never even heard of this or him before.

I'm also happy that 11 of IU's songs made it to Melon's Top 100. Would've liked her songs from her Love Poem album and Eight to also have been among the Top 100 songs from 2010-2020, though.
