First in June of 2020 produce x 101’s Han gichan & model Jang euisoo starred in “where your eyes linger”. All episodes have been released.

Plot:

Han Tae Joo (Han Gi Chan) is an 18-year-old high school student and is the sole heir of the TB Group – a family-run business conglomerate.

His strict parents keep him under surveillance 24 hours a day, and he feels both bored and oppressed by their reluctance to let him enjoy a little freedom.

His closest friend is also his unofficial bodyguard – another 18-year-old male student named Gang Gook (Jang Eui Su). Gang Gook is something of a tough guy, with a powerful physique and a no-nonsense attitude.

But as the two young men grow older, they come to wonder if there is perhaps another dimension to their friendship.

When an outgoing female student named Hye Mi (Choi Gyu Ri) is transferred to their high school, she inadvertently drives up the romantic tension between the two childhood friends by going on a date with Gang Gook – irking Han Tae Joo, and stirring up long-suppressed emotions.

Will they act on their desires, or will Han Tae Joo and Gang Gook’s friendship remain platonic?

Second is “mr. heart” which stars produce x 101’s lee sejin & the man blk’s cheon seungho. All episodes have been released.

A member of the school track team, Sang Ha loves to run, but distance has never really been his thing. For Sang Ha, sprinting is what brings him the most joy. Jin Won, on the other hand, is exactly the opposite. A record breaking marathon runner in high school, Jin Won is well on his way to becoming a marathon superstar. Determined to live up to the expectations of his coaches and colleagues, Jin Won cares about one thing and one thing only: running his next race. When Jin Won finds himself struggling to maintain his record-breaking stats, his coach suggests Sang Ha step in to help as a pacemaker. Disappointed in the coach’s decision, Jin Won is anything but friendly to his new partner but with time and determination, the two runners come to find they share a similar passion, both on the track and off. As the two become closer, they begin to realize their feelings for each have taken an unexpected turn. But can they move from friend to friendlier without risking everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve?

there's been a surge of BLs in my country too lately since 2gether got so big lmaoo

a lot of them are from indie production companies, but some big actors have hopped in on the BL trend too

Oh that’s a Thai drama right?

Can you explain what bothnewyear is?

Like are they in a drama and together in real life?

Untamed got a huge success internationally and in SK, it is not wonder they try to replicate it, considering one of the leads is an idol and he benefitted greatly from this

I hope this trend continues tho, somehow I prefer idols in these roles rather than actors, maybe because they have more boy next door vibe and feel more natural

They climbed on trees and took photos on sets lmao I'm still not over how they climbed half the mountain to get there 😩

I think boat one was for a fishing variety show??? For Wang yuan? I remember BCS I found it absolutely hilarious how they stacked on top of each other taking pics away lol

I also remember immortality?

Their fansites were something else, untamed didn't got that since their actors were pretty unknown before drama luckily imagine acting in a historical drama and you turn and see this

surprised it took this long tbh. bl screams very much idol culture lol. it's also a very easy way for male idols/actors to stand out considering bl seems an easier way to gain fans.

now we gotta wait for all the controversy in the future of actors saying something ignorant about gay people even though they used it to get popular lol

Ah I remember checking out 2ha/haoyixing twitter space and seeing these photos. Funny, but the staff was definitely not happy with it so they tightened security from my understanding. The drama is about to come out soon in 2021~

Yes it was hilarious but goddamn it's dangerous and stupid at booth. Like, I think it's more of amusement of "wtf how stupid people can be" 🤣🤣 I will check the drama out ♥️

This makes me happy. WYEL and Mr. Heart were the only two that have come out I think so far and both were overall very charming. Also had great music and cinematography for such lower budget productions.

BL really took off this year, partly due to shows like 2gether, Ossan’s Love, and Untamed. The ones airing lately have been really good, especially compared to BL stories of the past.

I Told Sunset About You is short but probably one of the better dramas I’ve seen lately, so I’m happy to see more BL stories out there.

Jang euisoo was way better than gichan  imo (in Where Your Eyes Linger)

Omg yes. I recently finished ITSAY because all my tl was talking about it and it's on another level compared to the usual fanservice-y and full of cliches thai BL. The cinematography is amazing, their chemistry is on another level and the story is SO well written and developed. It's actually more a coming on age story than just a BL.

What I like about korean BLs like WYEL and Mr Heart is precisely that they feel like well written coming on age stories too and not just typical bl with overused tropes. Thai bl is entertaining but series like Sotus, Love by chance, 2moons etc are so full of shitty stereotypes and toxic stuff that it's hard to watch.

But it's incredible how Korea has gone from virtually not having a single BL (maybe just some short films or secondary characters in dramas) to this sudden influx after WYEL success.

I think both were good but I personally prefered Gichan because he gave his character a mix of sassiness and vulnerability, idk how to explain it but his acting surprised me.

If anyone needs a BL recommendation I highly recommend Gaya Sa Pelikula. The show is written/created/acted by members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

Its a romcom with a realistic take and heavily inspired by popular romantic comedies. Great chemistry between the leads.

Turn on CC for subs

I’m still watching ITSAY but it’s one of the stronger dramas I’ve seen, BL or Not.

I couldn’t get into Tharntype due to the first episode for some of the stuff it romanticized and showed. It’s nice to see less shows going that route though.

I’m pleasantly surprised how good Korean BLs have been lately, and hopefully it continues to grow and improve.
