The ones I remember from the go: height - so group would look more pleasing to the eye in the photos visuals - are usually stan attractors. By putting them into the spotlight/center, companies hope to attract new fans harmony - if some perform acapella or harmonize vocals in their songs a lot - lead singer will be in the center.
