Why are some people not willing to accept the fact that Blackpink are legendary?

They performed at coachella, sold the most albums of any girl group, have billions of views, and set records for most viewed music video in less than 24 hours more than once.

Why can't they accept Blackpink are legends in their own right?

People are in denial, especially when it threaten their 'faves'. There is enough room in this world for multiple successful and legendary kpop groups.

Blackpink's achievements are indisputable. I'm a SONE but I can acknowledge that Blackpink is iconic and legendary.

Yes Jennie and Lisa are pretty but there are so many other pretty Kpop idols. Jennie and Lisa have captivating stage presence and talent. Not everyone has this 'it factor'.

Can I be honest, to be deemed as "legendary" you gotta have amazing songs and a memorable discography. If you're releasing average or similar songs and people are buying it everytime, it just means you have a loyal fanbase. BP started out amazing but i feel like everything after DDDD wasn't up to the standard of their other songs, plus they don't have any creative control over what they're singing. I'd say the only difference between them and all the other kpop girl groups is that BP has more english lyrics.

Why do you think YG signed a 10 years old American-Korean model? The answer is because he wants to make western Kpop with english speaking pretty girls that he can shape up to do anything he wants, this level of talent can be manufactured

And what's wrong with that?

Ofc they have to work hard and learn to manufacture that level of talent. That's the whole point of kpop, manufacturing. And I would like like more idols to manufacture lisa's dancing, charisma or mayhaps idols rappers to manufacture their rapping. Not saying others don't do it like em, but it's a good enough level for pop that people should aim to attain. Miss Britney was a legend even if the main thing she was serving was leuks, dance, and sales.

Nothing wrong with that, but blinks shouln't expect everybody to call blackpink legendary, they are the result of well done marketing, training and artistic production of YG and that's it.

I mean sure. But this isnt what I was replying to. It was your whole remark about pretty. You never said legendary = making your own stuff, being super talented without training. Which I would've agreed to (minus the training part maybe).

The users here who are saying they need to have a more memorable discography, makes more sense in regards to the question.

Minus the YG part, that's literally every legendary Kpop group.
