Facebook's algorithm (plus its selling the users info) sucked so everyone fled to Instagram. Instagram started to suck until they stole what made Snapchat what it was, but then the Algorithm started favoring certain influencers and businesses. Youtube started collaborating and pushing celebrity channels, so everyone started streaming on Twitch. TikTok was also having a algorithm problem recently with favoring thin, white content creators. Tiktok isn't either. Tumblr was very picture-friendly, but it's dead and is never going to come back to life. But once a better image-sharing social media platform starts to rise? The very reason I'm not browsing Instagram as much as I used to is definitely because Facebook f-ed up their feeds and other algorithms. The very fact that we can no longer browse feed chronologically using following time posted is a big downer for me. As whether Instagram going to die soon? I don't think so. While Tiktok emerge for video content, Twitter maintain for flash (instant) content, Instagram still remain relevant for it's photo contents.
