Anime recs

Recommended Posts

Lighter's recent thread made me realize that it's been a while since I've watched an anime. I'm not a big anime fan to begin with but I have definitely loved a few. I'd love some recommendations since you all seem to know about anime very well.

For reference, here are a few animes I enjoyed watching when I was really young:

Zatch Bell

GeGeGe no Kitaro

Sgt. Frog

Dinosaur King

And here are a few I watched in the recent past that I loved

Banana Fish

Given

Kakegurui (didn't finish this one cause I was lazy lol)

BANANA FISH IS A BLESSING INDEED 😔❤❤❤❤❤

Its a bit old but hm o.o i suggest Noragami and K project, they are older compared to others, but they are my long term faves hehe

I also adore Houka, Kuroko no Basket, snafu and Fairy Tail, but those are definitely not literary masterpieces lol i guess my taste is considered low quality for anime fans o.o

Violet Evergarden is simply beautiful! And you can watch it on Netflix which is a big plus for me!

I recently watched Log Horizon (on Netflix as well!) and i tought it was really good too! "Natsume's book of friend" is really nice to watch too!!

And of course KONOSUBA !!

Is there a specific style of anime you like? Action, Romance, Isekai?

attack on titan is a really solid anime, both the anime and manga are really good

1 season anime such as devil man crybaby and running with the wind are really good too

hxh is promising though it's on haitus, my hero academia is a good anime too

ohhh mob pycho 100 is really good, ahahahah this is hard cause there are so many good animes out there (though personally 99% of the ones I've watched are shonen lmao)

I got back into watching anime this summer by watching run with the wind and it's one of my favorites so I recommend that. In my opinion it's such a great production

Seems interesting. Will check it out. Thanks!!

Thank you! I think I might start with Hyouka and Kuroko no Basket once I'm free.

I haven't watched much anime but Full Metal Alchemist BrotherHood and Neon Genesis Evangelion both lived up to my high expectations and are short.

Thanks! I've been wanting to watch FMAB for ages. Since both your recs are short, I'll definitely give them a try.

Monster (by Urasawa Naoki), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Hunter x Hunter are my faves. Highly recommend. If you enjoy reading, I also recommend reading the manga.

Monster's plot seems really interesting. Thanks for the recommendations!

Thank you! All your recs are very interesting. I think I'll start with Konosuba. As for genre, I'd like to check out spooky/horror animes or good BLs like BF and Given.

For thriller i can suggest Psycho-Pass and Another !

In the mindfuck /psychological category I haven't watched it but i know that Madoca Magica is really good despite how it looks!

Thanks! I actually watched Digimon Tamers as a kid. Renamon and Terriermon>>>>every other digimon. I'll add Digimon Adventure to the list. Do you recommend I watch Digimon Data Squad?

Thank you so much!

Savers is probably the only season I wasn't invested in rip, but I've only heard good things so I'd still say give it a try!
