ArticleRed Velvet completely cut out from 'K-Pop Concert' due to Irene's controversy

Source: Insight via Instagram

1. [+516] And yet they never edit out the male idols who have controversies ㅋㅋ

2. [+443] All of the members are being negatively affected because of Irene..;;

3. [+181] People would've complained whether they edited them out or not

4. [+95] This seems like too much;;

5. [+123] Isn't SBS the one abusing their power? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Especially with the year-end accident and all. Is this a joke?

6. [+89] Irene's the one that did the wrong so why does the rest of Red Velvet have to suffer

7. [+95] I feel bad for the Red Velvet members when they're all so damn nice.. all because of Irene.

8. [+29] Red Velvet is not at a level where they can just be cut out of shows, it's obviously because of Irene's controversy that they did it ㅋㅋㅋ Now she's out there affecting the other members.

9. [+23] Hul.. the poor other members.. ㅜㅜ

10. [+20] #IRENE_OUT

11. [+10] ㅡㅡ But the other members weren't in the controversy ㅡㅡ

12. [+7] I just feel bad for the other members at this point

They were caught between a rock and a hard place but they could've just edited Irene out. Unless they really had to cut some performances.

They didn't need to cut anything, that's just their hilariously bad excuse. Trying to cut just Irene out of a performance is not only essentially impossible, but would've only made it all the more blatant what they were doing. I'm sure they didn't want that. But the fact that they were even still performing for SBS in the first place tells me SM will take this lying down.

They could've blurred her face I guess. But I think Korean TV stations are often too quick to edit people out as soon as they get into a scandal.If they had just aired it unedited they would've faced criticism too, so this must've been the most convenient way for them. They can air another performance instead and don't have to officially take a stance. I'm assuming there are other performances and groups that also didn't get aired.

Honestly, they caused Wendy's accident and lied about it and now they're cutting off their performance because "rUnTiMe"? Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.

Mnet proving us that they can cut the main vocal out and still have a coherent performance to show on TV.

TV shows have a ridiculous number of cameras filming the same stage so there'll always be an angle that doesn't show the person you want to cut out.

The fact that RV has been inactive for the whole year because of sbs mistake and now they're fast to jump on editing out one of their rare group activities pisses me off even more

Mte. Same here

Editing Irene out is unrealistic. Showing Irene would attract more negative attention. This is just the sensible move honestly

It's SBS' fault there was a stage accident earlier, and it's fair to be mad about that, but it's not SBS' fault that Irene verbally abuses people...

I'm not sure who is supposed to be cut out of that performances, but unless there's an 8th person hiding somewhere, they're all being shown to some degree. And that's with almost twice as many people onstage as the current Red Velvet. Sure, you could refuse to do any closeups on her, but she'd still be very visible, and it would look ridiculous to be focusing on someone else during her parts.

seriously, THEIR NEGLIGENCE at the end of last year resulted in Wendy getting severely hurt and missing out on NEARLY A YEAR OF ACTIVITIES.

Oh btw you actually can "cut out" someone without ruining the whole group. This is one of example, not the best because we still can see her, but there's no zooming of her. (She was cut out bc cheating scandal not long after the show aired and this is their first group performance)

(It's the most left girl in thumbnail)

Why it isn't embedding

Edit : someone gave similar example above lmao I didn't notice it
