They were caught between a rock and a hard place but they could've just edited Irene out. Unless they really had to cut some performances.

They could've blurred her face I guess. But I think Korean TV stations are often too quick to edit people out as soon as they get into a scandal.If they had just aired it unedited they would've faced criticism too, so this must've been the most convenient way for them. They can air another performance instead and don't have to officially take a stance. I'm assuming there are other performances and groups that also didn't get aired.
