I totally cannot understand why they won't just promote gugudan then.

Like they left them suddenly and tbh its not something I've seen fish do (without a known reason that is, whether its logical or not). Like when vixx started out and wasn't selling much initially,  they didn't give up and tried changing the concept and then on and on happened.  But for gugudan, they just stopped after like 5 cbs? Well yeah 5 is more than vixx's 2 initial cbs, but now they have more capital. Also gugudan was selling a lot more than in those 2 vixx cbs.

I feel like there's something internal and not to do with the group not doing well or anything.

I actually think Jelpi doesn’t find worth in Gugugaga anymore. They forsaken the group for a more profitable artist which ironically is Sejeong. If Sejeong’s doing all that solo music, acting, variety, and endorsements- there’s no room for Agugubebe anymore and they made it that Gugususan can’t stand on its own without her.

Bubble, the birthday announcements, and the V-lives of other members. I’m sure they’re just fulfilling their remaining responsibilities until the girls either decide to leave or until their contracts end.

The first sentence is what confuses me. Like looking at their sales, they seemed to be doing well actually.  Though right now,  I can see why they wouldn't see a worth anymore. Its been a long wait by now.  But initially,  the drop just felt sudden you know?

It may just be me but I really weren’t surprised that Jellyfish suddenly stopped caring about the group. They always put Sejeong in the spotlight since debut but as time went by you would expect they tone it down and let other members shine too but no, they heavily capitalized and anchored Gugugone on Sejeong that the group lost its worth and became a one-man show. When Not That Type underperformed and Gugukaren had a concert where a lot of the goers weren’t even fans of the group itself, I sort of saw it coming tbh.

Looks like they were always pessimistic about them.  Bad decision imo, they should've at least tried pushing them as group if they decided that sejeong wouldn't be solo. They had visuals and voice. Nearly all the members could sing, rip.

Jellyfish did try to push the group *as a group* in the beginning (and I'm not defending them - I personally think at this point JF should let the others go like Pledis did to Pristin) and then the Sejeong akgaes started spamming their social media and vlives with how Sejeong should leave the group and go solo (where the other members could read it). So Jellyfish gave in and "The Boots" is about 50% Sejeong, and then less than 50 for the other 7 members (even Haebin who is ALSO a main vocal). Yet, the akgaes didn't come out to support them. Same with "Not my Type". The gugudan IG is basically news about Sejeong (and sometimes Mina) and that's it.

They haven't had a comeback in almost two years now - not even with a digital single just to keep fans aware they exist (this is Brave Girls level of dungeoning here - and yet JF was once compared with Cube and Starship as a mid-tier company). They booted the girls from the dorms, rarely get anyone not named Sejeong and Mina work (like how do you waste talent like Nayoung, Soyee and Haebin?) and seem unaware they even have a girl group. Now Sally is going to become a big star in China and how does Jellyfish respond? Post some more Sejeong pics with her Crocs. I have to think even Sejeong hates this, she loves Gugudan.

Yes! This is one of the saddest parts. Sejeong even said herself that she feels sad that other members’ charms and talents go unnoticed (because the attention is all on her).

Also, what makes The Boots worse is that Soyee is a main vocal too. There are three main vocals in the group but somehow half of the song is sang by only one lady.

Actually, I agree. I think in the first 3 cbs, it was pretty equal. So the akgae reactions does explain this.  They were unhappy when they were a grp,  and the 'casual fans' are unhappy now that they technically aren't.  Catering to these types of fan demands is the stupidest decision ngl. Real profitable fans are those who show support(unless there's an issue), not those who complain unnecessarily, and certainly not those who hate. Oh well it's a kpop company after all.  We've seen many of these already.

I feel so bad for Gugudan, they had a lot of potential as a group (pretty, talented, good songs and concepts) but Jelpi basically only pushed Sejeong and Mina. To compare with other post-IOI groups, at least Weki Meki is pushed as a whole group and they constantly get comebacks despite "flopping" every time.

But who knows, maybe they can get a comeback eventually. I mean, the group technically isn't disbanded.

Random but I wonder what do they plan to do with Minkyu. He's fairly popular on his own but is he gonna be an actor/MC forever or they'll add him to Verivery, or debut in another group in the future?
