before forums were much more popular

there were so many interesting forums on web before but a lot of them got deleted

even OH had a lot of members before and it was just active af

some say it's because people move to stan twt but twitter is so damn boring to me and I hate the format and cringey ass stans

at least lipstick alley still exists

Yep that's the biggest problem with twitter. It's not an ideal community. It's unorganized and hard to have good discussions on it. Which is why i don't see forums completely dying anytime soon. Or really ever. Instead forum communities have to figure out how to evolve with the times. For starters, a app probably would be good. But i understand tech is having some issues getting that going again. So..

people just make groupchats to have actual discussions, i sometimes barely check my tl cause im only talking in dms LOL

the thing with oh is that people barely talk in artist threads, theres like 5-10 threads that have actual discussions going on. so when you're alone posting in a thread it doesnt really make you wanna post..

but group chats is not an ideal situation either. it's confined and isolated. i prefer interacting with whoever i want.

yea artists threads have suffered the most on oh. however there are still plenty of discussions and activity throughout the rest of the site.

Do kpop stans today even know there's kpop community exists? Idts. Also forums? Nah. Kids these day don't know how to have discussion (what forums stand for), instead they just know to hate based on what they saw. Hence why we have so much toxicity today.

Kpop forum community? As long as y'all here and keep the community running, get people to join and have fun together (either play games/events/having discussions), be mind to each others, and well, manners, then I can say we would still be relevant for a longer time. Unless everyone is giving up, then I'm not surprise if this space get abandoned.

generalizing the younger gen is probably not it lol >< there are plenty of people who like discussions. I mean, there's threads of it on twitter too [even with it not be an ideal platform for it].

but i do think OH admins could use the twitter account better.  not only to gain more younger fans but also there are many older fans who don't know about oh either.

i agree, as long as there are people willing to talk and post here, then oh is fine. personally i like how chill and relax oh can be on some days~^^

The big SNS sites are so stressful with how quickly misinformation spreads. I wish forums went back in style but the problem would probably just come over if threads were too popping. If only like 12 people comment it's easier to correct them personally vs. the thousands of people freaking out about imaginary scenarios on Twitter.

I guess using kids made you think I'm generalising younger gen when I'm referring kids to kpop fans in general. But yes, there are still people who like discussions.

I just hope we able to get our active members while having new ones. I think a lot of our active members still don't know OH is back.

while i feel some of the old active members don't know, there are many that do but have moved on.

plus like i always mentioned in these topics many people choose to lurk instead. a few lurkers crawl out when there's a big scandal.

which is why i think rather then trying to cater to just the old fans of oh, trying to gain new ones would also be a good idea. there's actually a lot of potential out there.

wouldn't there be a lot of spamming since it's a chat format

yeah tbh but in discord, you can make like... rooms within a server. so it's pretty organized! the discord i'm in has like, a separate room for comeback announcements, general chatting, translations, etc!

That has historically been the best way of getting traffic to the forum! Like that one time some guy's nudes leaked and OH was the top result on Google, or when Daniel Henney thought OH was a news site or something and felt the need to refute some user's speculation that he was dating Jessica
