So pretty much all the SMrookies girls from the Mickey Mouse club left, huh? Sometimes I just dont get SM. I could've sworn 90% of the time I thought those girls were likely confirmed to be in SM's next gg especially considering how SM were promoting and pushing the SMrookies girls and the whole brand back then. The girls even perfomed at SMtown in the Apink style fairy-like concept many years back. It seems like SM changed their plans and is trying to get mature and tall looking girls e.g. Yoo Jimin and looking to make SMNGG with girl crush semi-sexy image trend that's popular rn. I'm guessing SM is probably doing bootcamp elimination survival style training to carefully select final SMNGG lineup that suits the image that they want  and Hina was probably the latest trainee that didn't make the cut, thus she got eliminated and left. Sucks cause from some of the vids I've seen Hina is such a good dancer, I prefer her much more so than Jimin imo. It's very surprising that it seems like none of the girls from SMrookies are gonna be in the SMNGG.

I thought this too. Instead of debuting with a cute/bright concept like early SNSD or A Pink, they're probably gonna debut with a teen crush concept like ITZY or even a full girl crush concept like Blackpink, Loona or Everglow because it's the most popular concept right now, especially if they want to appeal to international fans that love that concept.

The other trainees are def talented and insane visuals from what I've seen, so smngg is surely gonna get people talking.

Yeah I mean, they have to be because Lami for example used to be marketed as the "future Yoona" or something like that. Yiyang was considered a top visual too, and SM rookie girls in general were pretty pushed in 2016-17 so I guess they found other members that suit more the concept/visuals/style they're aiming for now.

There goes the last one from the original SM rookies 😕 I expected this because there was strong rumors that she left but I wanted to keep my hopes.

So yeah, it seems Yoo Jimin is basically the only known trainee now even if she wasn't part of the original SM rookies. I'm curious about the others because they must be extremely talented and/or visuals to be choosen over Koeun, Lami, Hina or Yiyang.

I think Yiyang was the only one that chose to leave on her own, and she was the first to leave. I think the others may have been cut from the lineup.

Tbh, I've had a similar feeling as well. I know LSM technically isn't the CEO. But I wouldn't be surprised if his interest in LOONA was a way to test out how their concept could work with an SM spin to it. But I am curious to see how it will differ from SM's other girl groups.

It needs to be quite different from red vel due to concept clash issue, thats why i suspected loona theory to be true at first, its different enough and explains LSM's weird interest in completely another group lol

rip i guess we need to wait for smngg but if i were loona i would be worried af for getting used as test subject if thats the case T^T

She left in 2018. Didn't she? I Think Herin chose to leave too.

Yeah, even if SM isn't trying to recreate Loona's concept in a sense, I'm sure that they'll try to find something that's going to set them apart from the other GG, especially Red Velvet.

But, I feel like that's the theory that makes sense the most. I also thought maybe the gg really wasn't as ready as they had hoped, which is why he took notice and potentially invested if LSM felt like it wasn't happening soon. But, I think we may finally be closer to actually debuting. Hopefully it's on track.

As for Loona, I guess if nothing else, they got the benefit of having a bit of cred from working with LSM/SM and perhaps some new fans. Granted, so far his involvement has received mixed reactions. But if it helps build their fanbase at least, then I guess it was worth it.

All the SM Mickey Mouse Girls wasted their youth in SM for nothing. Similar situation to Future2NE1 all the promising YG trainees girls left Yg without debut but at least they will be debut in Purple Kiss, Mystic Girls or debuted in Secret Number or Fromis_9.

The former SM trainees in majority of cases dissapear of idol world. Too little quantity of former SM trainees debut as idols in another companies or as actors or models at least.

I can observe how SM erased all the trainees with soft pure and local korean beauty type like Lami, Jungyeon, Koeun, Hina of future gg.

Maybe NGG will be fit an international chic style what fits with Yoo Jimin. Maybe the rest of the girls will be have that style too.

Good luck in your future Hina!

I definitely feel like this group will be NCT female counterpart.

1. The current known members look like they have a youthful yet also mature vibe to them, which NCT kinda has

2. Loona is seen as a test sample for the new GG, and they’re 12, so this group will be somewhat big in its lineup (if they wanted a smaller GG, G-Idle could’ve been a test sample, especially with how many collabs they had with Soyeon)

3. With the unit concept, Loona has 3 units, so that’s something else to look into

4. There seems to be a good amount of Chinese girls under SM rn. So there will likely be a promotional team in China consisting of members from either mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan descent

5. SM is a sausage fest rn, so they need girls to balance it out

6. The NCT 2020 concept seems to be picking up a lot rn. So it could be time for a GG to inherit something similar. Especially considering this group will go against 2 BigHit label GGs next year

7. Right now (or at least a month ago), SM had 100s of female trainees, so they had their own Produce series behind closed doors. Seems like they’re gonna get a good chunk of girls to fit the upcoming GG
