Article: Chinese netizens take issue with 'BTS 6.25 statement'... Samsung, Fila, and Hyundai delete BTS

Source: Joongang Ilbo via Naver

1. [+6,630, -35] BTS said what the truth and that's that. It doesn't matter what the Chinese say, pay no more mind to them. Why do the Chinese kick up such a fuss even when we speak the truth? We don't need the Chinese fans. Let them disappear. How dare you mess with BTS like this? Everyone in the world hates China, let them disappear from the earth. BTS fighting.

2. [+3,594, -12] They were the enemy at the time... so what's so wrong about that? The biggest threat to our country is China, just look at how they think they can treat us like we're their property.

3. [+2,480, -6] What do the Chinese expect? For BTS to remember the sacrifices made in the name of their communism?

4. [+1,299, -9] The entire world is laughing at how barbaric the Chinese are

5. [+868, -5] All China ever knows how to do is get angry even when the truth is spoken ㅎ

6. [+639, -1] BTS is a South Korean group so of course they're going to say that... China, the country you helped is North Korea

7. [+355, -0] The Chinese are so petty minded ㅋㅋㅋ BTS is Korean and the Korean war is a war that is a part of our history. China helped the North at the time, not the South. This is fact. It's unfair to ignore the truth and bully people in hoards like this. I hope they realize that they are just devaluing their own country by acting like this.

8. [+341, -1] ??? Am I the only one who's not understanding this? The 6.25 war was between China + North vs US + South... so why are they expecting a South Korean group to mourn the sacrifices of the Chinese soldiers? China only got involved because they knew that if the US took over the South, it would impede on their profits so they're the ones who chose to get involved and sacrifice their own soldiers so why ask us to mourn that?

9. [+334, -2] At times like this, I'm just glad that BTS is only comprised of Korean members

10. [+311, -9] I'm embarrassed of Samsung and Fila, especially of Samsung, a company that represents our country. BTS did not say anything political and these companies should realize that the problem lies with the Chinese fans who are making this out to be an issue.

Article: "We gave so much money..." Chinese netizens enraged over BTS statement

Source: Hankyung via Naver

1. [+1,391, -8] Maybe Kim Jong Un, Kim Il Sung, and Kim Jung Il are grateful for your contributions but not us. And please be honest with yourselves, your country only got involved because you didn't want to border a democratic country.

2. [+945, -9] Look at these smelly virus incubators barking... you do realize that the whole world is suffering because of you?

3. [+586, -4] If China had not gotten involved, we would've only lost 1/10 of the lives that we did, and both countries would've been unified

4. [+285, -6] Come on, our country gave you enough skills for you to live off of. You've only gotten as far as you have as a country thanks to all the skills the Koreans have passed on to you.

5. [+153, -0] ?? But we're the South and the country China helped is the North?? Do the Chinese not even know basic history?

1. [+810, -5] BTS has grown enough to the point where they don't need the Chinese market anymore. I'm proud of them and I hope that they don't apologize to the Chinese ever.

2. [+486, -1] The Chinese expects everyone in the world to cater to their tainted record of history or they'll get angry and boycott everything. If China's so mad, go make your own BTS. I really can't stand the Chinese at all.

3. [+386, -3] Should've listened to MacArthur when he wanted to bomb China and just unified the North and South

4. [+321, -5] This is actually quite good for BTS, it lets them weed out the Chinese fans

5. [+94, -0] Big Hit... we all know that the Chinese market is where the money's at but it's best that you just give them up. If you let yourselves get dragged around by the Chinese every time they throw a fit like this, BTS will never be able to speak freely again. Just give up the market and let BTS promote freely.

1. [+150, -1] What a joke

2. [+132, l-0] Are the Chinese all under hypnosis or something?

3. [+113, -3] Please disappear with Japan from this earth!

4. [+23, -0] "NO CHINA" for us too

5. [+20, -0] They're the ones who chose to join the war. If it weren't for them, the North and South would've reunited.

6. [+19, -0] What sacrifice are they talking about? They're the ones who joined the North. Do they even have brain cells? Do they not see that BTS is not a North Korean group?

7. [+16, -0] So sick of these Chinese acting up again, just shut up already

8. [+13, -0] The fact of the matter is that BTS could throw away the Chinese market and still be fine...

-

1. [+5,849, -9] They're crazy. The Chinese were the enemy during the Korean war, what do they expect BTS to do? To treat the US soldiers, who were our allies, like nothing to praise the Chinese? They're not even making any sense!

2. [+3,993, -11] The Japanese don't know our history, the Chinese know the wrong history... what a mess up and down...

3. [+2,343, -4] A Korean group is talking about Korean history, what exactly is the problem here?

4. [+2,150, -9] China, this is why you've become the joke of the world

5. [+1,636, -8] This is ridiculous. They can go ask a North Korean instead of asking BTS, a South Korean group, to mourn their sacrifices. Do they not know what country BTS is from?

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs “promotes friendship” regarding BTS ‘Korean War’ speech

BTS-55.jpg

The Deputy Director of Foreign Ministry Information Department of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Li Jian, “I have taken into account the relevant articles and reports, and also noticed the reactions from Chinese netizens. I want to say that we should learn from history, look towards the future, value love and peace, promote friendship and these should be our common goals. These are worth us joining hands in hard work.”

original post: theqoo

1. It’s crazy that China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on that

2. I really hate China

3. No, the Chinese kids are weirdㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Why is this controversial…?

4. Seeing China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs comment on this, it doesn’t seem like this is a small online controversy?

5. ((((((BTS)))))) BTS is Korea’s treasure and they did nothing wrong. We will protect them by all means

6. Has BTS ever said anything about China? This is ridiculous

7. I feel sorry for BTS. Whether in Korea or abroad, why do people always force them to participate in politics?

8. BTS only talked about the obvious, but why are the Chinese kids cursing at BTS? I feel bad for BTS

9. The Chinese are talking as if BTS makes the most money in China, which is ridiculous… Honestly, BTS makes the most money in Japan and the US

10. The Chinese are thinking they are the center of the world..?? Koreans talk about the history of Korea and the US, but why are the Chinese so angry? BTS are not even Chinese singers…

I mentioned in another thread, the media outlet starting most of this on the global side are affiliated with a certain Chinese party. It's just typical communist propaganda trying to stir mess.

BTS didn't say or do anything wrong. ifans/kfans should remain out of it.

Both Fila and Samsung have not made any official statement yet.

nah kfans will NOT stay away from it, the issue concerns them as well since BTS speech was for SK citizens, about their relationship with US, and Chinese netizens made a big deal of it over a mistranslation, they have every right to be mad tbh.

Now, I fans should stay away, everyone is distracted with JM birthday tho so I guess it won't be a problem.

I didn't say they don't have right to be upset. Knetz commenting in articles is fine. However anything more tho, I feel is not necessary, in this case or right now.

It's not all the cfans/cnetz. It's just the sheep being brainwashed by ccp.

What did they say

BTS received an Van Fleet Award - which is based on Korea-US relationship.

They're mad at what Namjoon said.

"This year’s Korea Society 2020 Annual Gala is especially meaningful as this year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War. We will always remember the history of pain that our two nations shared together, and the sacrifices of countless men and women. After seventy years, the world we are living in is much closer than before, and boundaries and many aspects are getting more blurry than before.

As members of the global community, we should build deeper understanding and solidarity to be happier together. In pursuit of this cause, BTS will always remind ourselves of the meaning of the Van Fleet Award and keep doing our best in all that we do. Thank you very much."

They have an issue with this statement, as the Chinese were on the side of communism backed North Korea, along with the Soviet Union. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese lives were also lost in the Korean War. (source: kb

Everyone and their mothers trying to get BTS involved in politics and this isn't even the first time. Just let them breathe and talk without taking every word they say out of context! I don't know even get why people, especially asians are so keen on their history?  Like things happened in the past, ok, but it's time to move on.

they're going to get hate whether they don't and whether they do talk about the Korean war so might as well be patriotic like Namjoon and talk about it

I think it's not even being patriotic tbh , its just history. China was on NK side not SK, them being offended by Namjoon speech makes no sense at all.

I dunno where it happened, if it was in my country or somewhere else, but when the Chinese president arrived the government made sure there were no people in Winnie The Pooh costumes in the area to avoid offending him 💀. The kind of street performers you know
