They can't relate as they have SM advantage where a new nct member gets insane amount of attention for just being a new nct member.

I'm just confused at people dragging Cravity simply because some people pointed out they're doing well. In my case I simply said they're doing well precisely because the members that were in X1 don't even have many solo stans/akgaes and the starship OT5 as a whole had more fans during produce than solo fans.

And bringing the charts, especially after the reform doesn't make sense. I mean, even a monster group like ITZY went from charting on melon top 10 several weeks with Wannabe to not charting even a week with Not Shy. If a trendy big group has been a bit affected imagine a literal rookie.

I mean sales are admittedly low given the people who are in this group but they just debuted 4 days ago, they have plenty of time to grow. People need to lay off them. Have they done any fansigns/fan calls yet? Those will give them a boost.

Anyway, akgaes are trash. Ngl this makes me worried for Drippin.

Does Junho has a lot of akgaes though? Idk, it seems people like Drippin as a whole. Woollim boys were kinda like Starship boys in produce, they kinda had their own OT6 fandom and 5/6 of that original OT6 are in Drippin.

I didn’t follow X1 all that closely but Junho does seem to have one of the least amount of akgaes out of all the members and I haven’t seen people complaining about the group, so hopefully their debut will go down smoothly. I’ve been waiting for Yunseong to debut for so long, I hope their debut doesn’t turn into a mess lol.

Anywho I liked Wei’s debut, they will grow eventually.

Yeah I mean, all members from a produce group have some akgaes but from what I've observed Junho doesn't seem to have as much as others.

I think they'll be fine. Yunseong is super popular since produce too (in fact many people preferred him over Junho as their Woollim pick) and like I said Woollim team was kinda like Starship's. They had a lot of fans of the team as a whole, not just the member/s that made it to X1. And Hyeop wasn't originally in Woollim but he was popular in produce too.

The thing is Oui Entertainment doesn't have that much money or trainee

I mean WEi group is a group that actually are kinda close to each other but they are all solos acts and redebuted acts from other projects:

Daehyeon

Donghan

Yohan

Junseo & Yongha

Seokhwa

It's litterally the best of both worlds that they debuted all together while Donghan was releasing albums after albums, Daehyeon was put on the back burner and wasn't releasing any music despite always talking about writing and producings songs. So we might had Yohan releasing a lot of songs but nothing from Donghan & Daehyeon and let's not even talk about the 3 others.

They're not even one month old do please hold back the hate smh they're too transparent. Wait until at least their first comeback.

But what's with cravity bash? This amount was usually seen from exo-bts fans, twice-bp-rv fans, or snsd-2ne1 back then, or for group whose members/company is pproblematic. So what did this group do? This thread isn't even about them akhdkshkahs

I never get solo stan to this lvl... well akgae honestly i honestly dunno anything ab yohan but some fans expect their fave to go solo just cuz theyre solo stan and cba to follow like whole grp ig? I mean it isn't easy for just one person to carry themselves alone on stage.  Its for some idols benefit they are in grp than debut alone.

Also even beside being solo stan..boycotting ur faves album , like what is that eve r proving tbh? If its something a mass of ppl really doing theyre just jepordizing their favs career 💀just get over it and support it how it is...or don't,  but being upset/boycotting over it is too extra

Highest peaks on melOn daily chart by 2020 rookie groups:

1. Treasure: 364 (Boy), I love you (511)
2. Cravity: 373 (BATR), 582 (Flame)
3. WEi: 656 (Twilight)

I think you should worry about them falling 200 positions on melOn from debut to comeback first.

Melon doesn't mean shit when it comes to fandom power, Stray Kids and Ateez still barely chart but sell 300k+ physical copies.

Treasure and Cravity both sold 100k+ for their debut albums, which is pretty great considering it took Skz a whole year to get to that point.

Tbh these demands baffle me when it comes to Yohan, because even if he's very charismatic, he's still lacking in terms of skills - he's a fast learner but he was only a trainee for three months before Produce, so he's still a bit rough around the edges, and still needs the group to grow.

And strategically speaking, Oui has seen how things went with Donghan - he had a pretty successful solo debut but his subsequent releases didn't do that well. It's harder for a soloist to retain fans because you just can't have as much content as with a group.

They actually sold even more, Cravity sold +150k per album and Treasure +200k per album. Cravity is also the only 2020 rookie that charted on melon top 100 (#90) in the old system, and the only that has a music show win. Both groups also charted top 30 in Genie/Bugs. People put too much importance on melon when nowadays it's only a handful of established and trendy groups who can chart in the top 100. Is everyone else a flop then? Like you said, there's groups like SKZ or ATEEZ that are physical monsters and have big fandoms but they have never cracked melon top 100. Are they flops too? Pls.

And I agree. Yohan maybe would've done a bit better than Donghan as a solo because he has a bigger solo fandom but still I think both of them are better in a group. And for Junseo and Yongha who come from 1the9 (whose last album sold like, less than 10k) is a big improvement too.

Almost every boy group in existence is a "flop" when it comes to the general public.

Physical sales are a much better way to accurately measure a boy group's success, since they rely on fandom for revenue.

Exactly, if you look at melon 24 hours chart or the daily chart right now it's literally BTS and established/rising ggs charting. Even many mid-tier girl groups such as CLC, WJSN, Weki Meki, Dreamcatcher, Fromis9, Loona, etc can't chart in the top 100 or just barely so imagine bgs that have much less GP support. Since the new melon system I think only BTS and SVT have charted in the top 100. NCT and TxT are rising too and their last comebacks peaked as high as 4-5 on melon but that was with the old real time system. We still have to see how they chart with the 24 hours system.
