[Pannchoa] Kim Yohan and Kim Donghan's group Wei debut with questionable results. Fans request Yohan's solo instead

They have Produce X #1 Kim Yohan and Produce2's Kim Donghan in this rookie boy group

original post: here

1. There's even Seokhwa from Produce X ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

2. There's a ton of Kim Yohan fans who are boycotting this group, especially the big fandoms like his Chinese fandom. They're all requesting him to go solo and claim they'll only support him if he goes solo. Other groups' fans should definitely not think that it's because they have a weak fandom

3. Theqoo always sh*ts on Yohan so much, so it's no wonder that they're sh*tting on his debut now. The person who made this post is transparent. Just look at the title and you know it's a hate post

4. This is all because of the company alone, they dismissed the fans, they don't even care if they don't sell a lot of albums. I don't even know why they're so confident ignoring the fans like that, they think that they can do whatever they want and get away with it. Do you really think that this is Yohan's career? That you can judge him because of that? Are you dumb? 95% of the people who are buying albums right now are doing it because they're dumb and are falling for the company's plan

5. Fans will never spend money on a group when they supported only one person in Produce...Me either

6. Huh but this group isn't only made of one person, there are other members too so why are people only blaming one person's fandom here? I wouldn't buy anything if the fandom made me feel guilty like that either... Just buy as many as you can and wish for them to do well, that's it

7. Huh Yohan's fandom is purposefully boycotting and this is not representative of his true influence; they're doing that because they want a solo so stop dragging all the fandomㅋㅋㅋ

8. Produce's #1 from a fake group, you just know that this wasn't his true ranking after all

9. I hope Kim Yohan and Wei do even better in the future

10. It's because so many fans hate this group...

Idk what people were expecting. Majority of produce stans are literally solo stans and they only support their pick and the winning group of produce. You only have to see how post-IOI and post-W1 groups/artists sell way less than IOI/W1. I also feel Yohan had a lot of casual fans/voters but not necessarily many invested fans like Seungwoo, Wooseok, Seungyoun, etc so it's not like those people are gonna buy a lot of albums simply because Yohan is in the group.

But they aren't selling that bad for a rookie from a small company like Oui. They just debuted and have plenty of time to gain their own fandom. Cravity's case for example is kinda different because the Starshipz boys already had a fandom since produce and 4/5 of them are in Cravity (similar to NU'EST's case, 4/5 of them were top 20 in produce and built a group fandom).

Wait Donghan redebuted in a group?!

Yeah he did. I think it was always planned out for him to be in a group, he just debuted as a solo first like other idols did.

And tbh it's not like he as a solo sold much more

Prolly some potential group fans were turned off when Jyunhao and Mahiro still didn't make it to the OUI bg debut lineup.,
despite earning  money for OUI from their fanmeet w/ Seokhwa.

Anyway 10k 1st day sales for their debut isn't bad esp for a small company like OUI.
It would be unfair to compare Wei with Cravity who is under Starship which has some experience with managing bgs.
As long as they keep promoting as a group and have content where members can show their group chemistry,
then Wei can slowly build their group fandom and eventually won't be in the mercy of akgaes.

edit: boycott rumor seems to be false so my theory abt that boycott is not valid

not everyone can be cravity 💅

Highest peaks on melOn daily chart by 2020 rookie groups:

1. Treasure: 364 (Boy), I love you (511)
2. Cravity: 373 (BATR), 582 (Flame)
3. WEi: 656 (Twilight)

I think you should worry about them falling 200 positions on melOn from debut to comeback first.

the same happened to treasure and the same happened to many groups since the chart reform, what's your point?

but it's undeniable that out the post-X1 groups/artists they're the ones doing the best, especially with physical sales and fandom wise. Even their first comeback still charted higher than Wei's debut song and others like H&D literally didn't even chart top 1000 with their first comeback. Idk why y'all are dragging Cravity when it's undeniable they're doing well.

yohan had no more and they didn't even make it chart on melon top 100 so how do they expect more solo stuff??

Idk on melon but in Genie/Bugs it definitely charted higher than Wei's song.

Wei just has to earn their own fandom with time because it's pretty clear Yohan stans care for Yohan's solo stuff only.

They can't relate as they have SM advantage where a new nct member gets insane amount of attention for just being a new nct member.

Their standard for numbers is way higher.

I also learn a lot from ulting cravity after being a fan of multiple SM boygroups for more than a decade.

I mean sales are admittedly low given the people who are in this group but they just debuted 4 days ago, they have plenty of time to grow. People need to lay off them. Have they done any fansigns/fan calls yet? Those will give them a boost.

Anyway, akgaes are trash. Ngl this makes me worried for Drippin.
