past yg probably would of have ignored and/or fought it, now however...

-timing with covid
-nth room relation
-the korean health association literally came after them
-yg is trying to recover their good reputation in korea
- the issue was blowing up in korea which possibly could of lead to the entire mv being banned from certain broadcast channels

Remember how PSY became a huge topic and got his MV banned for kicking a traffic cone.

If this was old YG, they would have let the video as it is, and probably would get banned. But nowaydays YG only has Blackpink who is clean so they need to keep them that way, any tiny bit of scandal will be revisited before any bans.

I can understand to all but nth room. Like... How is Jennie's nurse outfit connected to it?

apparently it had a huge category dedicated to nurse content/fetishes

edit: by the way it's not just the outfit, it seems some people have a issue with the entire scene.

I didn't expect this to be such a big issue considering the amount of uniform based "concepts" (nurses, policemen, flight attendants, firefighters and so on...) in kpop in the past, but I guess the timing was especially bad this time?

There was a whole channel from NTH Room, where people were harassing and leaking stuff from Nurse...

I don't know everything in details.

Wow good job!

There was nothing sexual about her scenes, it wasn’t even meant to look that way yet people are taking it way too far to hate on Jennie. Plain ridiculous.

This isn't about jennie.  Nurses there had been protesting about it. Not everything is about attacking kpop and idols.

I can see how the criticism of the MV is due to healthcare workers stigmatised during Covid 19 and getting fetishized in the Nth room.
But even if Covid19 and the Nth room incident didn't happen,
YG will prolly still be under fire because of their association with prostitution , revenge porn, and drug-facilitated sexual assault in the Burning Sun and Molka scandal.
YG artists/mgmt involved in those 2 scandals have merely resigned fr the company and are not in jail,
while some of the non-YG co-defendants were alr in jail even during the trial.
If it was Jennie the doctor/pharmacist giving a pill to Jennie the patient instead of Jennie the nurse diagnosing Jennie the patient,
there would prolly be backlash too.

For we who have mentioned past groups and etc. So according to this tweet [thread] the nurse issue is not a new complaint. It’s an ongoing conversation. In late 2016 there was a similar argument from Korean nurses due to the rise of “sexy nurse costumes” for Halloween (which only became more popular in the past few years).

As mentioned in above thread medical union also put out a statement:

The working environment for nurses, specifically female ones seem to be really really bad in Korea for quite some time now.  There's so much we ifans can learn from all of this. Most importantly this is a case where we ifans should just let Koreans handle Koreans tbh.. rather than trying to silence them with our own cultural viewpoints.

(not sure how long the above tweet will last, ifans have been attacking many which causes them to delete, so...read it while you can)

This. Just because we don't see a problem in it doesn't mean someone else doesn't either. If it wasn't a big deal then YG wouldn't have edited the scene out. I saw people say "oh it's just them hating on Jennie". Yes, she was so proud to film that scene and was so proud of herself but this doesn't have to do with her. I think they can understand that Jennie isn't at fault.

Maybe we should start learning more about Korean culture rather than shutting them out. Well, not when they're being racist. That's a different topic. But we need to start learning more. It'll help us understand why some issues are issues.
