Also - Looking through her sns accounts, seems she's always been actively trying to spread awareness and teach Koreans to understand other cultures and stop being racist towards black people who live in (or visit) Korea - seems to be the inspiration behind her cartoon art.

A few reports she's been featured in:

They are teaching them cuz they're after that good American money... $$$$

We all know only Americans care about "cultural appropriation". The concept doesn't even exist anywhere else in the world.

Now that the Koreans are lusting over US DOLLARS they suddenly feel it's important to teach American culture to Koreans so they won't accidentally offend the Americans and lose their money.

They didn't give a shit about any of this before because they didn't think debuting in the US was possible.

So they're all doing it for $$$$$$$$$$$.

I mean, I don't blame them. Money is what makes the world turn around.

But it's still funny that they're only doing this so suck up to Americans. lol

Shut the flying duck up. Mental health and eating disorders are also concepts "made up" by the west, but it wouldn't hurt to learn about it outside that part of the world. Would you argue that they are ideas made up by doctors to get more money from people to treat made up disorders?

Nah, I agree that this is for the sake of the American market. For example, you’ll never see this kinda media play about educating them against their rampant anti-Chinese racism because America hates China. Cultural appropriation isn’t even close to Korea’s biggest issue. If they truly cared about social justice they’d be educating them on ageism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia. This is dogwhistle activism.

Except mental health issues and eating disorders are actual real illnesses recognised by doctors and scientists.

Cultural appropriation is a fake concept invented by humourless college lesbians and stereotypical angry black womxn "scholars" which was eaten up and spread by tumblr/twitter twilight fanfiction writers.

I'm not going to watch the video through, but idk, I think it's cool.

Obviously yeah this sort of training, if it becomes the norm at all (which it almost certainly won't), has the end goal of appealing to the American market. It's not like you can ask people across the world to truly give a shit about the ethics part--  they just need to understand there are lines they should not cross, and should know why.

It doesn't really matter what your take on cultural appropriation is. The undeniable part is that it seems to matter a lot to the American demographic they're appealing to, so it's in their best interest (financially) to have respect for what that demographic wants.
