#RIPJKRowling trended on Twitter today, and not because she actually died. That hashtag trended after Twitter found out that her latest book is about a cis man who crossdresses when killing women. I know, such a completely original plot, and since everyone knows how JK (which for me, stands for Jesus KanYouStop) feels about trans people, this feels like she’s spewing out some anti-trans symbolic fuckery. So, no, JK isn’t dead, she’s just killing the nerves of many again.

JK Rowling’s latest book Troubled Blood comes out tomorrow and she wrote it under one of her pen names, Robert Galbraith, for the Cormoran Strike series. The Telegraph reviewed it and said that one of the plots of the book might get JK another jewel for her Queen Of The TERFS crown, via The New York Post:

“Troubled Blood” follows a private detective, Cormoran Strike, as he investigates a cisgender male serial killer who dons women’s clothing to kill female victims. Using the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, it’s the fifth book in Rowling’s Cormoran Strike series using the pen name. In “The Silkworm,” the second novel in the series, Rowling portrays a trans character as being “unstable and aggressive.”

The meat of the book is the investigation into a cold case: the disappearance of GP Margot Bamborough in 1974, thought to have been a victim of Dennis Creed, a transvestite serial killer,” wrote The Telegraph in a review of the novel. “One wonders what critics of Rowling’s stance on trans issues will make of a book whose moral seems to be: never trust a man in a dress.”

FYI, Robert Galbraith Heath is the real name of a physiatrist who fried the brains of gay people in the name of conversion therapy. Subtle.

JK Rowling, who claims she’s been empathetic to trans people for decades, was one of the writers who signed that Cancel Cancel Culture open letter after she lost it from reading an op-ed piece that called people who menstruate “people who menstruate.” JK wanted us to know that only “women” can menstruate. Even Harry Potter himself cast a very polite version of the ShutTheFuckUp-is spell on her.

So will JK be affected by pretty much copying Dressed To Kill to troll trans people some more? Probably not. But I think a much much better mystery novel would be one that gets to the bottom of why JK Rowling keeps her nose up the trans community’s ass and why she’s so obsessed with periods. And strangely enough, Troubled Blood would be a great name for that mystery novel.
