I don't use the DVD service (though I used to a long time ago before they changed their terms/pricing/etc), so it's just for streaming. When my boyfriend and I want to find a random movie to watch, we like to browse through and decide on what looks the most interesting and give it a try. There's also been several shows I've been able to binge watch through Netflix or even go back and rewatch if I hadn't in a while. I like having the option to stream, and for that option it's a fairly inexpensive service. I don't like to download everything because too much to keep up with and it's nice hitting "play" and watching instantly than waiting for an actual download to take place. American Netflix might have the largest collection, but it definitely lacks a lot of shows that other regions have. why pay for something when there are torrent sites like rarbg? For one, it's illegal. Some people are scared of that and some countries are less lenient than others. Secondly, with Netflix you get instant access to what you want to watch whereas when torrenting, you have to wait until the entire thing is downloaded before you can use it. Depending on your internet connection speed, that might be a while. Personally, I torrent shows that are airing now and netflix shows that are older, but I can understand why some people wouldn't. Also, go out of my way to make sure I don't get into any trouble for it (private trackers, seedbox, etc.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I never heard of it before and I have some questions. Where does popcorn get its torrents? Which tracker does it use? Is there any security on it to prevent people from tracing it back to you? But I cancelled it after the trial was up. Almost every movie I wanted to see was DVD only, and the one TV show I care about enough to like watching re-runs of it all the time was all DVD only as well. I didn't want to have to wait until the DVD came in the mail to watch the movie. By the time it would get there I know I'd lose interest in wanting to watch it. Pretty much I'm a brat, and when the urge hits me to watch whatever movie, I want to watch it then and there, not wait for a DVD to show up. So Netflix didn't work out for what I wanted it for. It has introduced me to new series/movies I wouldn't have found on my own, and their automated recommendations have gotten better since my sister isn't confusing it by throwing kids' shows in with my weird indie horror movies and police procedural shows.
