i remember after TVXQ it took BIGBANG a billion years for them to appear on the show. Idk if its Johnny's doing but boy groups tend to have a harder time getting onto the show so im really happy SVT is making an appearance

It took SVT a #1 BB Japan Hot 100 and a 42-year historical record breaking achievement in Oricon to get this opportunity.
So I'm happy but I wish it didn't have to be this hard just to get on this show.

People don't wanna hear it but it's obviously the BH connection at work here. I know SVT does well in Japan, but you said it yourself, they are mega closed to bgs.

Idt it's just the BH connection in JP at work here for the following reasons:
- 24H MV is released under Seventeen Japan's official YT but not in Big Hit Labels (while Left and Right and My My MVs are released under Big Hit Labels)
- they didnt release a JP ver of their songs as an anime / Jdrama OST after BH acquired Pledis while other BH artists were able to do so.
(They got a Jdrama OST for Smile Flower JP ver but that happened before the acquisition)
- BH also acquired Source Music but GFriend still wasn't able to appear in Music Station for Fallin Light

I said I know they're doing well, BH has no part in their Japanese success. Just saying it may have facilitated it as BTS and TXT have been to music station. SVT does way better in Japan than Gfriend.

You said it yourself Japan is mega closed to bgs
so a BH gg like Gfriend should have an easier time appearing in Music Station just by using BH connections without having to reach BTS or SVT's or at the very least TXT's  level of success in JP
but that's not what happened.
Anyway I checked to see who else have/havent appeared in Music Station
TVXQ Shinee SNSD and SuperM appeared but EXO f(x) RV and NCT have yet to appear there
BB 2NE1 and BP appeared but iKON Winner and Treasure have yet to appear there
2PM and Twice appeared but MissA  Wonder Girls* GOT7 Stray Kids and NiziU have yet to appear there
CNBlue appeared but AOA SF9 N.Flying and Cherry Bullet have yet to appear there
Those examples show that even other labels with connections aren't always able to get all of their groups to Music Station

As I said, again, it may have facilitated it.

Facilitated means it was about to happen anyways, but it was done more easily. Music Station is very wishy-washy in who they let in from the outside, it goes beyond  a company affiliation as they are very picky. I'll say it again: facilitate does not mean it did the whole work. How many Pledis artists appeared as of late? Or it's one hell of a coincidence that it took that long for them to appear on music station. It's not discrediting SVT in any shape or form because seeing their success in Japan imo it was WAY overdue. Or we can keep pretending that the merger had no benefits for pledis, like some fans really hang onto for some weird reason...That's why I brought it up, I wanted to see the reaction on here, and my prediction did not fail!

That's why I said label connections don't really have much to do with Music Station appearances and gave all those examples.
Also why I never said Pledis connections got Seventeen that Music Station appearance.
What I said was it took Seventeen a #1 BB Hot 100 in Japan  and breaking a 42 year historic record in Oricon
to get that Music Station appearance.
That 42 year historic record is ranking #1 on Oricon weekly with 3 consecutive foreign albums by a foreign artist
no other Pledis artists were able to achieve that yet
no other Big Hit artists were able to achieve that yet, not even BTS or TXT
no other Kpop artists were able to achieve that yet, not even TVXQ or Bigbang.
no other foreign artists after 1977 were able to achieve that yet, not even Backstreet Boys or One Direction.
That's not a coincidence, that's Seventeen's hard work.

I look forward to seeing the next BH artist or Pledis artist promote their songs in Music Station without having to top Jp charts or win JP awards or break JP records or get RIAJ certifications.
If not Gfriend, then maybe NUEST in October or Zico (if the rumor is true) or the upcoming BH-affiliated groups.
If that happens, then I'd be more than happy to concede and admit the BH connection.

Not to nitpick but miss A was never active in Japan to begin with though? (I see the point you're making overall though)

My mistake it was Wonder Girls who promoted in Japan and not Miss A, lemme edit that post. Thanks for pointing that out.
