Why people link lucid dreaming as being safe with physical damage and not with mental damage?

Today i succeded with lucid dreaming and i dreamed of me being a mexican 12 yrs old boy playing with my cousins running around a city, it was summer middle of the afternoon with the streets full with families and people vacationing, we run inside a museum, a garden with people laughing near a fountain, we pass vendors in the streets selling fruit, and all of the sudden i run a bit faster and pass a post boot with an officer with a gigantic scanner and before i realize i'm looking from the outside in a huge desert at night at what it was the biggest dome ever who contained that universe and the guard tells me: carefull, the real Mexico it's dangerous, you can't come inside once you'r out, i panicked  .... i wake up;  now... explain my mind that was a dream, it felt so fckng real, specially since time it's elastic in dreams and it seemed it happened all in a period of a week in the dream ( i don't mention all but we were shopping, staying in hotels, buying gifts) and next thing i know its i have 5 min to shower before work
