Perhaps his group might will not even go through the iland show A girl group: You're right they would be competing with the other girl group...unless they debut near the end of the year to qualify for 2022 ROTY. This seems the most possible option imo because like I said, debuting 2 boygroups in a row would feel too repetitive and they'd also compete with each other since i-land group is possibly gonna qualify for ROTY 2021 too since they'll debut in october or later. And if it's a gg they'd compete with the gg under BH x Source unless like you said, they debut very late and qualify for ROTY 2022.

Because it doesn't seem like they're gonna debut another group any time soon. Lol who knows what Pledis has or had planned. Maybe they're at the first rounds of auditions. Haven't started cutting people yet... Either way, i wouldn't be surprised to see many of these people let go eventually. edit: I noticed Belift has no trainees minus the I-land contestants. We know there's rumors about other group(s) coming from Belift in the future. So those trainees must be held in other companies right now (Pledis. SoMo, and BH) Edited September 3, 2020 by satoori

Unless Belift don't care about the competition. Getting two boy groups up running asap and making money might matter more. I mean ,let's look at W1 and JBJ situation: One was clearly the more popular group but JBJ didn't do bad either. (JBJ was managed by Fave Entertainment, while CJ E&M oversaw the group's release production.)
