It's a recurrent problem, since the stereotype is having girlgroups having a real cute and angelique, very feminine, young and a little bit too sexualised with mysogynistic lyrics where men is the standard.

So when girlgroups tends to break that image, have feminist/empowering lyrics they get the backhanded compliments. 

And let's not even have a girlgroup member with a toned and/or muscular body, she will be called a man right away.
