Girls’ Alert’s agency issued a statement on Jisung’s condition after she was rushed to the ER.

On August 16, Jisung was filming her web drama “Ugly Complex” (literal title) at DR Studio in Mapo, Seoul, when she suddenly vomited and lost consciousness. She was rushed to the emergency room of a hospital in Sinchon for treatment.

A source from her agency, Roots Entertainment, stated, “The diagnosis was that she had symptoms of enteritis [inflammation of the intestine] but more testing is required for an accurate assessment of her condition.”

They continued, “Jisung herself insisted that she would return to filming because everyone on set was waiting for her. She said she would get an intravenous saline solution and finish what she had to do for the day. She promised to get a more detailed examination tomorrow. She is currently receiving the IV saline solution and is showing signs of recovery.”

“Ugly Complex” is based on a Naver web novel about the sweet love between an optimistic high school student named Ah Jin and a tsundere boy named Jun Woo. Jisung plays a character named Cho Hee.

Girl Group Revealed to Do Their Own Hair and Makeup Before Performing on Stage

They also come up with their own choreography.

A post predicted by netizens to have been uploaded by CEO Kim Tae Hyun of Roots Entertainment has been drawing overwhelming attention due to the reveal that Girls’ Alert doesn’t have a makeup artist or a choreographer.

Mr. A, who netizens suspect is the CEO of Girls Alert, posted, “There’s no fashion coordinator or choreographer, so one of the members, Gooseul does it all. The members also do their own  makeup.”

Mr. A continued, “Since the first theme was already picked by another CEO, there was no need for a fashion coordinator. It’s also true that they do their own makeup. They need to learn how to dress up themselves so that they’ll know what looks good when someone else does it for them.”

But Mr. A also expressed his apologetic feelings toward the group. He added, “I want to apologize to the members for what’s been lacking.”

Girls’ Alert is famous for coming up with their own choreography. In a past interview, Gooseul confessed that she made up the choreography for “Dreamgirls” and “Daddy Long Legs”.

In response to the post, netizens are responding with comments such as “It’s too bad they can’t take off despite their talents“, “They’d already be famous if they debuted with a big company“, and “That’s so frustrating“.

Update: Girls’ Alert’s Agency Clarifies Status Of Group And Individual Members

After announcing the termination of the members’ contracts due to the repercussions of COVID-19 (see below), Roots Entertainment has clarified the status of Girls’ Alert.

A source from Roots Entertainment stated, “Girls’ Alert is not disbanding. The group’s album production was delayed due to COVID-19. We couldn’t force the members to keep waiting, so we terminated their contracts. We made this choice in order to allow the members to promote freely.”

According to this source, Jisung, Seul Bi, and Goo Seul will be staying with Girls’ Alert and continue promotions as usual, except for album production. Saet Byeol has signed with another agency and will be making a new start.

Saet Byeol also posted on Girls’ Alert’s official fan café, writing, “Everyone is having a hard time right now due to the coronavirus. Are Weather [fandom name] doing well? Thanks to everyone who has asked after me, I am doing well! I am writing because there is something I have to carefully tell you about. I spent a lot of time thinking about it, and I think that telling fans first is the best thing to do. Some time ago, our agency found it hard to operate due to financial difficulties, and told us that future group promotions would probably be difficult. Regrettably, my time with Girls’ Alert ends here, but the time I spent with Girls’ Alert was a precious and happy time for me. I will greet you all with a better image so that you don’t have to worry about me or be disappointed. Thank you, I love you.”

The CEO of Roots Entertainment, Kim Tae Hyun, shared in a direct interview with Star News, “Our company had serious financial difficulties due to COVID-19. I couldn’t hold on to the members out of my own greed, so I dissolved their contracts. I let them go so that they could pursue any good opportunities should they arise.”

Kim Tae Hyun continued, “Saet Byeol was scouted by a new agency and decided to re-debut in a new girl group with them. Jisung, Seul Bi, and Goo Seul said that they wanted to stay with the agency, so they will stay with us for now. They are currently models for a certain brand. If the economic situation improves, they can promote as Girls’ Alert again.”

According to a report, Narin had already left the group and the agency as of April 10.
