Mnet has confirmed reports that an “I-LAND” cleaning crew member tested positive for COVID-19, and that they have taken appropriate safety measures.

On August 15, Dispatch released an exclusive report that a member of the janitorial service company employed by “I-LAND” had tested positive for COVID-19. According to the report, the individual visited the set of “I-LAND” on August 12 to carry out his duties, and was alone and wearing a mask at the time.

A source from “I-LAND” responded to the reports and stated, “We have been taking great care in carrying out preventative measures such as keeping a record of everyone who visits the set, collecting health questionnaires, and measuring body temperature. However, we have unfortunately had a case of COVID-19 on set.”

They continued to add, “The set of ‘I-LAND’ was shut down and closed off, and has been disinfected. We have informed the staff and contestants that there was a positive case and for their safety, all of them will be tested as well.”

The most recent episode of “I-LAND” aired on August 14 and revealed which 12 contestants will be moving on to the next round.

Is it going to disrupt the filming schedule at all?

good question.

i don't see why it should, but who knows...it will depend on who all test positive after the test.

looking at the article, i'm assuming he went to clean after the filming of an episode. he was reported to be alone. i guess he's the head janitor and/or one who had the keys that day.

since he was alone he didn't come in contact with anyone. so as long as they disinfected the set they can carry on with they next filming. just like any other operation. humans have to quarantine for 2 weeks but a building don't.

that’s good at least.  pretty low transfer risk.

He may performed his duties alone but he'll probably chill with his co-workers longer off the set. The risk remain imo, but as long as he stick to the distancing and hygiene routine, risk could get lower. Guess it's up to how the tests on the rest reports gonna be. Hope it's not becoming a cluster.
