First, we express our sincere gratitude to fans who love VIXX a lot, and we are conveying sad news.

On August 7, Hongbin shared his intention to withdraw from VIXX. After careful discussion with the VIXX members and Hongbin, we are respecting his wishes and so it’s been decided that he will leave the group.

It’s planned that VIXX will promote as a five-member group in the future. We are very sorry to fans for causing concern with this sudden news, and we ask you to continue to love and support the VIXX members.

I guess it's related to the whole livestream incident, everything was blown way out of proportion. He really didn't deserve the level of hate he got and he certainly didn't need to leave the group over it. Welp, it's his decision I guess.

The damn truth, it was overblown. There are korean celebs that have done worst than he did and still have a fucking career.

He has been on hiatus since the drunk livestream controversy and recently posted an update on twitch saying he wanted to get back to live streaming.

This is so messed up and the situation was extremely blown out of proportion and this industry and the fan culture are so toxic towards idols and I'm angry for him and for others, witchhunting needs to stop.

He's still gon be on streaming which is good for him imo bc he's always been a frank and honest guy and not really the idol type I'd say. Before his streaming thing he really seemed bothered and upset by something which we will never know now I guess. And sadly  a lot of things he didn't say were made to look like he did. It was overall just a sad situation.  He did good with the multiple apologies, took a break and seemed very happy in his recent stream. So I hope we will get to see this happy side of him from now on.

Tbh I saw this coming but it's still unfortunated he had to leave the group over something that's not even that severe while people that have done way worse stuff are still in their groups...I hope he find success elsewhere at least.

Basically this. He didn't even say anything about the group itself but kpop stans started to witch hunt him for no reason saying he was disrespectful to his seniors. But he apologized so idk what else did they want from him.
