The popular Chinese video hosting service Youku has announced another idol survival show! Unlike the many others, this one has a slight twist. Titled “Asia Super Young” the show will be accepting and showcasing trainees from all across Asia.

To reflect this the show has already announced 4 mentors that will be appearing on the show. Representing Japan is Takuya Kimura, one of the most well known Japanese idols. Kimura has maintained steady popularity all across Asia due to his previous activities with his group SMAP, and acting roles.

Rounding out the announced mentors is Taiwanese singer Jay Chou, LISA from the K-POP group BLACKPINK, and Chinese singer Yi Yangqianxi. This will be China’s very first talent/variety show to be broadcast simultaneously in China and overseas.

“Asia Super Young” is planned to begin airing in the first quarter of 2021.

That's the most interesting casting I've ever seen in my life. Like Kimura Takuya, Jay Chou and Lisa in one frame ? What ?

Hope this new show is for girls bc Youku's debuted 3 bgs from idol trainee survival shows in less than 2 years already.
Black Ace, New Storm, and the future debut group from We Are Young.
Even if the debut grp from Asia Super Young is going to be an international group, it might still affect the chances of domestic/intl success of those 3 groups.

I don't think their casting has been confirmed... Wasn't this just Youku's announcement of who they planned to try to get as judges?

Is it some kinda competition between Iqiyi, Tencent and Youku?

Will they put japanese trainees since there is a japanese mentor or not?
