@hynapia You're right, Mamamoo do give off strong, independent, and feminist vibes. Mamamoo do target female audiences but it's a bit different then the other "girl crush" groups you listed. The typical "girl crush" we know in Kpop seems to be meant for targeting young school girls. So elementary kid and teenagers. While Mamamoo concepts are more for college to older women. Of course, any one can like whatever music they like, but still base on the lyrics and MV concepts Mamamoo is  definitely showing more mature imagery. @Gerimolda

With sexy concept coming back again?

Similarly to 2nd gen we got the cute/innocent era followed by girl crush/bad girl era and with Monster and Apple as releases from major players (groups) we seems to be entering sexy/sensual era once again.

Which will most likely bring rise to new cute, fresh, innocent gen in like a year or two.

Hm...

Or do you think the intl popularity of kpop will limit it to concepts which are west friendly?

Wish we got bops like Loving you, Heart attack, Something etc again.

I feel it depends on which groups or generation one is following.

Most young girl groups are usually going to start off with young concepts. Such as, cute, innocent, teen crush, bubble pop, or girl crush(targeting teens). As they get older they tend to mature also. Right now the 3rd gen groups, like Twice, Red Velvet, Gfriend and etc. are maturing and experimenting so of course to those who follow mostly them it might feel and look like the industry is only maturing. But in fact that's not the case. There are still young groups too entering the market. Weeekly, Woo!ah!, ITZY and etc. Then there are groups still in that in between phase. WJSN, fromis_9, etc.

The Kpop industry is one big cycle. Forever on-going. New groups with young concepts are always debuting and eventually everyone matures.
