I think Ren fits better with Minhyun if i go read a fanfic there are no weird heternormative gender roles or making the manly one which people will assume JR the top. Pledis censoring it makes it look... I know! I guess they took the opportunity and ran with it lol! (cause i mean, in itself, it's still something very sexual anyway imo, it's the significance and the action in itself.. it's almost like a reflection of 'something that could be done in private but i'll do it with his hand instead because we're in public' but the idea is still there idk. Ren's look and everything too is just..) speaking of which, ren and jr in general just do things with each other that they haven't nor would do with the other members. Ren and JR have always had chemistry with each other even during debut when Ren was more strict about his personal space, he was still lovable with JR at times. And honestly licking someone's hand randomly out of nowhere... that's.. like someone doesn't just do that unless they are close with the person. And if he did that with any other members they would pull their hand away immediately I bet but JR just let Ren keep doing it until he's finished lol. And did you notice JR's voice was unsteady afterwards?? Like he can't focus because of what Ren just did And Aron was completely appalled/shocked lol his face said it all. Even you can hear Minhyun going all surprised. With JRen I totally feel something. I feel something too! they act around each other too comfortable in comparison to the other members, they don't act the same or even get tactil and if they do it's to a certain extent.
