Why do people go around looking for "sympathy" with their bodies?

We all know that thick is the current body shape / type for this generation. Recently, I realized that many people have been making some weird comments:

"Am so skinny, I can't wait for some thickness"

"Look at me & my skinny body"

"I can't wait for skinny to become the trend again"

"Can people stop skinny-shaming me"

"Thick trend will die & skinny will rise"

ย

Most of these girls are even skinny, yes they are slim but not skinny. Like what are they trying to achieve? For people to sympathize & feel bad for them? I don't even see actually skinny people make these comments.

This kinda gets to me tbh. Yes, I'm skinny. People tell me a lot, but when I look at these girls calling themselves skinny (when they are not). Makes me kinda angry. Most of life I have been compare to others girl having "better body" than me.

i really dont understand why people saying theyre skinny when u think they arent would bother u

In my country thick has always been the trend. As a child growing up am normally compared the with the much thicker girls. It make me feel self conscious (until I found kpop & most idols are skinny, it kinda make me feel good about myself). I often force myself to over eat or eat only food with very high calories as a way to gain weight. Idk why these people thinking that being opposite of trend will make cool, when they are actually apart of the trend.

but how r u sure these people dont get the same comments as u for maybe not being super skinny but not thick enough to be "part of the trend"?ย you say they are slim, they might still feel bad about their body just like you.

That's another problem. As "they" used to force the idea that they were curvy few years back & now they are "skinny" when theirย weight haven't change.
