[Game] Shopping List

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Here's your objective.

You have access to any product shelved across aisles in a supermarket. This includes food, drinks, clothes, essentials, etc. Use the items on the list that you generate with other users. You are responsible in checking and compiling information as provided in previous posts.

How to play?

During this first period each user will take turns to add one item to a list. (You can be as vague or specific as you like.)
(User A posts, then User B follows. User A can post again after User B, but User B cannot post until another user (can be User A) posts.) For example, User A; User B; User A; User B.

The maximum amount of items for a list is currently capped at 10. (This can change depending on the participation rate.) No more items can be added if a list has been 'filled'. In this case, if there are 10 items at any given time on a list, no more items can be added.

Using this list of items, you have one of three choices:

  1. Combine two (or more) items from the list to serve a function. If you successfully combine two (or more) items, the items used can be dropped.
  2. 'Pass' (see 'Passing')
  3. If there is room on the list, add one item to it.

More information

Be sensible about what you choose to combine. For example, if you have spaghetti and bolognese sauce, you can create spaghetti bolognese. (Do not combine something unusual such as spaghetti and shampoo.)

All products eventually expire. Items can be removed via:

  • 'Passing' if users think that an item cannot be combined or utilised with one (or more) items from the list. After three consecutive passes, the next user who replies can decide to select and remove one item from the list. (The count resets if the user does not want to 'pass'.)

OR

  • 'Binning', whereby one product can be removed after 3 consecutive rounds. Each round (which may scale) currently sits for every 5 actions. For example, Shampoo [3], where [3] indicates three rounds or 15 actions since the item was first added to the list. (This means that if you have two of the same items — for example, Shampoo [2] and Shampoo [3] — only Shampoo [3] would be removed. Shampoo [2] can be removed only if it becomes Shampoo [3].)

OR

If participation rates drop — and there is only one user — that sole user can remove one item from the list every 24 hours.

You don't have to include the list in your post every time. (For example, if you are choosing to 'Pass' or if your list is empty — unlikely.)

Clarity:

There is no pressure to post a specific action after a post has been made by another user. You can chat with other users about whether an item should be kept/left aside (to expire after 3 rounds)/removed immediately (if three consecutive 'pass'es have been made).

You can make changes to the list only if the person who replied above is different. That is, you are not allowed to make two actions by making two posts in a row. You're allowed, however, to take another action if another user makes a reply.

To illustrate, this is not allowed:

User A: *adds*
User A: *adds*

This is allowed:

User A: *adds*
User B: *chat*
User A: *adds*

Sorry to quote you again. I'll try to explain it in a different way.

I think I tried to make this like an association game. My emphasis has been on how items could be used together.

There's no pressure in place to post a specific action after a post made by another user. You can chat with other users about whether an item should be kept/left aside (to expire after 3 rounds)/removed immediately (if three consecutive 'pass'es have been made). If there is room on the list, another item can be considered to help create an association with an existing item on the list.

I think I wasn't clear about the user A, user B situation. You can make changes to the list only if the person who replied above is different. Say, you're user A and I'm user B. You are not allowed to make two actions by making two posts in a row. You're allowed, however, to take another action if I make a reply.

To illustrate, this is not allowed:

User A: *adds*
User A: *adds*

This is allowed:

User A: *adds*
User B: *chat*
User A: *adds*

I'll add this to the OP.

I don't know if I understand.

If you've decided to combine ApplesIcecream and Cookies to create 'Apple cookies bingsoo' (and it's actually legitimate), you can take it off the list.

Why is there slippers in the list akdjfhaskjf

Trashie suggested it.

Also, what indicate that [1] ?

Essentially, [1] means that the item has stayed for 1 round. In other words, at least five actions were done since the item was first introduced to the list. (If there is a [2], that means that at least 10 actions were done. If there is a [3], 15 actions were done since the item was first introduced. Only at [3] can an item be removed from the list.)

Lol. It's amusing. It is fine to combine charcoal and toothpaste to create charcoal toothpaste.
