i think you were right not to hit her and i agree with @Haze ...young children are not as well-versed in the social climate of manners or polite questions. they simply don’t understand what topics are off-limits yet.  they should be educated, not hit.

using violence over such minor mistakes only makes children anxious to ever do anything wrong, not to mention how much an adult can hurt a small child without even using their full power.  hope that man doesn’t have children himself.
