This person accepted his apology, but he wasn't hurt by the comment. He said that Taeyong was just young and wrote that without really thinking. He also said that even though he wasn't bothered by it, he won't speak on behalf of the lgbt community. That is so true. It seems like the informant has a personal problem with Taeyong. Everyone is trying to go on with their lives and they keep stirring the pot. 21 hours ago, OhYeah_2020 said: A big slap to those people here on OH who slandered taeyong and calling him out of the group without even hearing the other side and the one who's directly involved. Did your soul left you already? On 6/23/2020 at 11:28 AM, Lyka said: So Taeyong's friend didnt even considers himself as a victim bc he knows it was a shitty joke between him and Taeyong. He's not hurt nor offended by the rolling paper. The informant is the one who potrayed taeyong's friend as a victim for her own agenda. This is why I still have a problem with this though. As a gay NCTzen, gay "jokes" like this are tired as fuck. I don't blame him for this, but even though Taeyong was younger back then, to say that _____ was going to fail in life because he's "gay" is still not anything to gloss over. Just because the recipient of the message wasn't offended doesn't negate the problematic nature of these "jokes". I was in middle school and high school when I saw other feminine or openly gay classmates get bullied, get called f*ggots and made fun of. Even between friends, whenever I'd see people say "that's so gay" or "stop being gay" in casual conversation, it still made me uncomfortable as a kid because it implies that being "gay" is undesirable and shitty. I never considered this particular scandal "bullying", but I did think it was homophobic, regardless of his age. I was once his age too, and I never said things like that. Obviously this is an extremely minor thing of his past relative to how far he's come, but what I DON'T want to see is fans just brush this off to the side and declare this a non-issue simply because his friend was in on it. Like "OMG HIS FRIEND SAID IT WASNT AN ISSUE SO THEREFORE ITS NOT A PROBLEM HAHAHAHA TAEYONG DID NOTHING WRONG I TOLD YOU SO"... like, no. This is still not right and we all need to start shutting down this kind of derogatory homophobic rhetoric, no matter how small. I'm not trying to demonize Taeyong, but he has a HUGE platform and a HUGE young audience, many of which are the age that he was when all these alleged controversies occurred... and we all need to recognize that his past behaviour was wrong so that we don't perpetuate it in our own spaces, whether it's fat shaming, bullying, or homophobic comments. Again, I'm not trying to say that Taeyong is wrong for this, because a lot of kids do it, and I'm not even sure if I completely believe that he was the one that wrote this based simply off of a photo. But we as fans need to recognize little microaggressions like this as wrong. Edited June 24, 2020 by jeong jaehyuns boyfriend
