She's wearing a dress and high heels (it was her interview day, so maybe she was only dressed up to impress... But turns out she actually wore that while working)

Even after she changed clothes, she's wearing high heels

Not only it's uncomfortable to wear such clothes while working
Even the angles they're filming her are so problematic

Below is the female dongsaeng of the lead, just look at the angles they're filming her

original post: here

1. Who actually looks like that during their part time job? ㅋㅋ

2. I knew this would turn out like that, I don't understand this drama

3. Which woman would actually wear those clothes to workㅋㅋㅋ Talk about wanting to receive sexual remarks

4. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Wow seriously.. Are we really in 2020? We're not in 2002/ Why are they... Going back in time

5. It was already problematic that they decide to make a drama out of that webtoonㅋㅋㅋ The webtoon is so weird, SBS has gone nuts

6. The original work itself was already insaneㅋㅋㅋㅋ But they're really making this into a live action? Are they sane?

7. But the webtoon isnt' even that fun...? Why are they turning this into a drama?

8. Kim Yoojung isn't a minor anymore and she's an adult, but is the company still pushing works on her? Or is she unable to pick good works;;

9. The original work was trash, this is crazy

10. Ji Changwook has lost his touch sigh

if I worked at a convenience store I would be wearing sweats and a hoodie. No shame. Honestly, not that far off from what I wear to work anyways.

Same. Comfortable shoes are must, and dress is wearable but i would definitely wear a dress that covers me till my collarbones T^T i would be scared rip

I don't think its that big deal either tbh but people were already side eyeing this drama cause the webtoon is about a 30 year old manager falling in love with a high school part time worker ( the part time worker is 20 in the drama version though)

this is the first episode of the drama so people are already mad

She looks sooooo cute though

tbh I would wear something equally ridiculous (heels included) to a job like that just because I love being cute so much

Are there roots of sexism involved? Probably... but I still like looking cute for myself 😭

Everybody is talking about how the girl kissed for 1st time to Ji Changwook being a high school girl(but she isn't innocent, she is sassy and rebel and she forced JCW) and sexualizated characters like Solbin character.

I haven't read the webtoon but.....if the woman wore that in the comic it's not really a problem, for the drama.

Yes people it's a drama. Y'all not notice the familiar face of the woman?

But I guess from the comments, the drama isn't really following the comic but made another weird and ewwwww scenes.

Obviously it has roots in sexism. There's nothing wrong with dressing that way, it's just not the most comfortable thing to work in. It's not realistic, but no kdrama is where everyone is beautiful and wears beautiful clothes and has perfect hair and makeup always.

You'd definitely get sexual harassment dressing like that(not a woman's fault tho, people are just gross).

The perverted camera angles too are gross.

This kinda reminds me of this old American tv show where the actresses never wore bras, but there were no weird camera angles.

I don't know if you've ever worked in a grocery or convenience store but high heels are NOT appropriate for that kind of job.

yeah i have. female managers/department heads at my store do wear similar stuff. so, yeah, what about it lol.

Depends what store.

If you're working in a fashion store like Zimmerman or Ralph Lauren or Reformation then yes most of the staff working there do dress up.

So in respond to your comment "What about it"... It is reasonable to point out that in MOST convenience store, people do not dress this way.

Thus making the scene quite unrealistic and only playing to perhaps male sexual fantasies, rooted in sexism and perpetuating the norm that wearing high heels is a must for women even if it is very uncomfortable.

Note I said MOST convenience store, so if there are cases where you've seen a staff at a convenience store dressing this way, it is an anomaly.

my 'what about it' was rhetorical lol its not that deep.

And I responded to your rhetorical question with a deep answer.

Because there's always a deeper reasoning to why a scene like this is written, a motivation why they dress the female lead working in a convenience store with high heels. Is it just an unrealistic scene or is it to establish her character?

i watched the first episode and it was by far the worst drama i have seen in a while like the issue with oversexualization and what's mentioned in this thread aside its just so DUMB regardless.

I felt like I was watching an snl skit rather than a drama. I can't believe they got a big name actor and actress for this shit

And are they actually working inside the store in front of customers or are they sitting in their office all day? There is a reason why high heels are not worn in grocery stores, convenience stores, or restaurants. Spills can happen and it is dangerous to be wearing high heels in that kind of work environment. It's basic store safety 101. Not to mention, standing 8 hours a day in heels is not healthy or good for your feet.

I feel triggered to answer this topic lol

as someone who have at least about 7 years experience in customer service and store retail etc... I have never seen a female worker wearing high heals not even in clothing stores lol unless its an office worker who sits in the office all the times anyway but most professional workers who work in the store tend to dress professionally or wear uniforms while in some stores for workers who left heavy stuff and do a lot of arranging sometimes safety boots are recommended maybe the part timers could wear what they want but trust me for a full time job like 8-9 hours a day 5/6 times a week those high heels will kill them legs lol
