[knetizen/netizenbuzz] MBC releases statement on SEVENTEEN not appearing on Music Core for upcoming comeback

bye-bye

I hope Pledis will buy own stocks back and Seventeen fans can get rid of Big Hit.

I really don't want to see any negativity and subtle blaming of Big Hit on my timeline anymore. And it's surprising to see how Carats say that Big Hit is the only reason of Seventeen's misfortunes.

Dear God, please please give Pledis lots of money, please give its groups huuuuge success so they can get rid of BigHit and I can get my less troublesome life back 🙏🙏🙏

Mbc doesnt want bighit but wants svt, svt is the innocent party here. I already said if bh wants to ban svt, they should at least make an exchange. Before they even showed support, they go around banning things. Svt is already performing less and less, and without their choice another music show is banned for them.

BigHit has been pretty silent about their beef with MuCore, they didn't release a statement about it, we just saw the effect.

The MuCore PD however released a public statement the moment his own boycott of BH artists turned against him. He USED Seventeen to paint BH as the villains, when he should have sucked it up and admitted defeat (by silently re-inviting BH groups to his show by their next comeback).

Promotion periods are extremely tiring for idols, and for older groups music show appearances are a courtesy they do to TV stations, because they don't need them anymore to get their name out, and it's a waste of time and money for the company (since they could use that time for more lucrative activities) . Groups can still like to do music shows to meet their fans, but it's been months since there hasn't been any audience so at the moment it's just a shore they do out of obligation.

I hate both sides, if thats what you are trying to do. Mbc is broadcasting company ffs, they are always the powerful side at issues like this, if MBC doesnt accept bts yet accept svt, well bighit as their company suck it up and has to do what is beneficial for the artist instead of being petty. Like i said before either show something that svt wont be harmed by this less promo by giving them more promo opportunities, or pretend you are not their company and let them go get extra promo from mbc

Except this is not MBC  the broadcasting company that's fighting with BigHit, it's only the producer or Music Core.

Makes it even worse. For a group any promo is important, and mbc loves svt, and was always happy to give them extra promo. As a company bighit shouldnt let petty feelings cover their group's success. I know you will say mbc started it first, but i dont care who started it, they are a broadcasting company ffs, you just cannot fight with a big broadcasting company, you are an entertainment conpany you have to try to ignore ill feelings and do best for your group. No matter which angle i look bighit is to blame here.

The fact that it's just one producer and not the whole channel doesn't make it "worse" it actually makes BigHit's refusal to work with him inconsequential for them.

"Any promo is important" > not really if you look at BTS, they barely go on TV

Most big companies have some kind of beef in the same vein (SM and YG never send their groups on M Countdown) and it doesn't stop their groups from being successful.

I dont care about how bts works, why do you people refuse to get that. I dont care about sm or yg too. Stop poking nose to fans concerns, our views on shortening promo period is real and it worries us. If you are not a seventeen fan your views are irrelevant to me, quit defending bighit when fault fully lies with them.

I AM a Seventeen fan and they're doing GREAT, so not appearing on that music show isn't going to affect their career in the slightest. I would get the worry if it was the whole tv channel they were banned from, but it's just one show.

Pledis has always been terrible at marketing their groups and Seventeen succeeded despite their agency not thanks to it. I'm not saying that BigHit is perfect, but they do their job as an agency ten times more competently than Pledis.

Then as a svt fan you would know mbc is important for them, strainign relationship between both is the real issue. You are saying svt will be fine not going to music core, i am saying i know they will be fine but removing promotional event  from their schedule and not including a new one is bad for them and the fans. The music core is one of the most watched, and even it wasnt such event shouldnt be removed on a whim.

Svt already struggled for so long, they succeded thanks to themselves, so i hate the fact boys who already manage everything themselves struggle between two companies fighting!

How many times do I have to re-explain to you that Music Core is not MBC ? The statement was issued by Music Core NOT the channel, and the rest of MBC doesn't seem to have a strained relationship with BigHit (they aired a long special broadcast for the BTS's 7th anniversary). The PD made that statement because that's the only way he has to pressure BigHit - the alternative would be admitting defeat and apologizing to BH for the way he treated their artists, and he's probably too full of himself for that.

For an established group (which Seventeen is now, whatever their past struggles), music shows are only important because that's where the group meets their fans, and at the moment they perform without an audience  and can't hold any fanmeets after, so it defeats that purpose. Plus music shows are a money sink, and they have abysmal ratings, so they're not even an efficient promotion tool, especially compared to variety.

Seriously stop being so dramatic about this issue, BigHit knows what they're doing and it's in their best interest to further Seventeen's career ; BTS is going to start enlisting soon and they just need the money their other groups can make them. They're very business oriented so if the beef was hurting their artists' careers, they would have negotiated behind the scenes and solved it months ago.

And im telling you one move of wrongness to one side of a channel, can create disasters. You can say its only music core, but how long it will stay as "just music core". I already said i dont care fights between bh and mbc, what i care is svt and svt only. Pd wabting to pressure? I know that, if bh sent svt to start with, this pressure wouldnt happen. Both sides are trying to pressure one way or another bh with not sending svt and mbc with releasing a statement inviting svt directly. Bh has more blame here bcs they have to think svt first and foremost rather than their grudge like some kindergarten kids, its business world, you cannot afford being petty for so long, it did no good to any company in history.

I already said if svts music core promo was exchanged with something better i would be fine with it. What bothers me is bh banning things for them before they even properly show support.

I dont have to lick bighits ass, i am allowed to be critical of their behaviour and defend my group if needed. Removing promotional stages are huge and should have a proper statement and what will do instead should be clearly explained, yet they even fail to share are small word document about it. Without even seeing a perk of bh they already started to hinder svt, and am i supposed to be dandy and fine with that?? Hell the fuck not. Disagree all you want.

It’s really unfortunate when beefs between companies and broadcast stations (or music show was in this case) prevent idol groups from having more opportunities. As a fan of two groups from SM I know this well so i’m sorry for carats.

Other than that people always say that YG stans are the worst company stans but I can see BH ones topping them in a few years 😬

Yes... their last posts are from March/April 2020 it's actually very sad because they were super active on IG and have millions of followers. Even I a non-stan was happy to see them on my feed and used to like all their posts.
