‘Music Core’ official statement “We have sent requests for SEVENTEEN to appear on the show… We wish for them to appear on the show”

MBC’s “Music Core” has now issued a statement regarding SEVENTEEN not appearing on the show for their upcoming “Heng:garæ” promotions, which reads as follows:

Hello. This is MBC’s “Music Core.”

The staff of “Music Core” is always working hard to invite singers from many different genres to our program to create stages that stand out from other music programs.

The staff has sent requests for SEVENTEEN to appear on our show, and we wish for them to appear on our show and perform for our viewers.

The “Music Core” staff will continue to work hard to create the greatest stages for fans of K-pop.

Edit: i know non carats wont get it, but mbc is quite important for us. Svt was called mbc's sons at one point because they both had amazing relationship, and mbc would do varieties to special stages to special showcases which at that time they didnt do for other groups, now its all gone with a petty fight

mbc is trying to twist the narrative... they were the ones who didn't invite txt and gfriend.

however now they're saying they want to invite 17, after that article recently dragged them. so i guess, we'll have to wait and see what happens. apparently txt do go on mbc shows tho.

how are they twisting the narrative, what does them asking 17 to come on have to do with not inviting txt and gfriend? but thats good if it doesnt include variety

initially articles revealed said 17 might not attend. assumed mbc would treat svt like txt and gfriend due to being a part of bighit now. basically mbc is trying to jump on this before anymore dragging can be done. everyone was basically dragging them for being petty.

lol i'm not talking about twitter. koreans and knetz too. the articles made mbc look stupid and petty. 

i agree, they want 17 on their show. right now 17 and bts are two of the most popular groups in korea. they wanted bts too, but then got mad when they couldn't attend due to another event. so they decided to take it out on their label mates. i guess, mbc thought bighit would bow down...edit: again, i'm curious to see how this will be handled

I don't think it's fair to block artists from going but this isn't even something new since other companies also stopped their artists when they had beef. I still can't understand how this will affect negatively SVT when the group is already satable, tons of fans, good sales, good image, good concerts, many music shows to attend and end of the year if they can. There's artists that don't even attend music shows or all of them and still do good.

My nugu faves aren't important, this made me sad T-T Back then it was only BTS and two smaller groups. Now is SVT and they have a big audience >.> the hit is big. I do wonder if they invited Gfriend at least though '-' because TXT i can understand since they are a product of BH while Gfriend still is under SouMu.

Mbc is not twisting the narrative here. They didn't invite TxT and GFRIEND in one show (Gayo) because of pettiness against BTS, which was uncalled for. But since then BIG HIT has been boycotting them and showing pettiness too. Matter of fact, Mbc has not boycotted any Big Hit acts, not only they've been trying to include them look at GFRIEND how they promoted on several shows from the broadcast, matter of fact they even had a Special episode of Idol Radio were they were the mc but also the guest and the producer of that special episode.

The issue here is SVT was the child of Mbc, they were invited on all the shows and even had shows created especially for them, the Big Plan Debut, One Fine Day and One Fine Day in Japan.

I think what BigHit is doing is important. They cannot allow MBC to continue to do what they did. Maybe next time they should prerecord a BTS performance if they need it so badly.

I don't give a shit about companies but here is some basic business: if Pledis was in a position to be merging, it's for a reason. It is strategic. The beef between BH and MBC was existent way before the merging, so I am pretty sure Pledis knew tf they were signing into...I know yall love a good evil story but merging is no dictatorship. Pledis saw a gain in it. As a fan, you may not see it explicitely, but this merger has increased shareholder value, which inherently is positive for your faves. Anyways, I don't care about SVT, just some food for thought. Maybe you'll stop being as upset...

P.S: BTS made the huge company BH is today. What BH is today is what is increasing the value of Pledis today in this merger. If BH deems that MBC's disrespect of BTS was worth cutting ties, the rest will come with it.
