[UPDATE: MNET confirms there were injuries but says they weren't trying to cover it up]There is growing concern over lack of safety precautions for Mnet's I-LAND (one participant was injured)

the last part of the article about the petition makes this journalist seem a bit...????  i guess the bad publicity articles coming now that it's getting so close to the date. attention..

nonetheless people get hurt all the time on set. i feel bad for the staff and contestant.  hopefully no one else is hurt and the set is fixed.

edit: UPDATE - [200624] Statement release at today's Press conference:

I am convinced bighit is paying you

that last part is weird to me.

honestly since i assume bighit have invested in this show too, it would be nice they give some advice to ment/cj about transparency and releasing detail clarification statements in a timely matter. it's better to know the facts (negative or positive). then just be stringed alone by sensational journalist.

I'm confused about the petition thing. Like who made the petition to support those 2? The director of this show?

exactly it's random af. seems like it has nothing to do with i-land, but was just added on by the journalist to add more fire to this situation. idk tho?

tbh I'm not sure which part you're referring to but this show is literally a collaboration between bighit and CJ ENM so of course they invested

Yes I know it's collab. But i'm talking specifically invested meaning financially too. Of course, we don't know what percentage Bighit put in..but still apparently A LOT of money was spent on this show and it's set. It has been in the works for 3 years.

now there's people in twitter (mostly oneits) already shitting on the iland trainees that don't have anything to do with this. They should clarify who are they referring to tbh.

not surprise. people are going to make comparison to the whole producer situation.

this is why i said official statement should be released to give more details on what happen. apologize if necessary too.

apparently i-land have started to put banners up in the streets of seoul and the show has been positive trending too. so...the timing idk...

on twitter i'm seeing others say not to believe everything without confirmations.

yeah I feel really bad for the contestant with the arm injury 😞

Hopefully though, Mnet is serious about taking better precautions so no one else gets injured.

agree, hopefully there isn't anymore big mishaps like this :(((

apparently there will be a part two of show. maybe they can do some sort of bring back an old contestant idk. some american shows do that to give someone another chance.

That would be interesting if he's healed enough to potentially bring him back, unless their company doesn't want to work with MNET anymore of course. But still, an interesting idea.

all trainees belong to belift (cj x bighit), so...

there are many that haven't even trained that long either
