I just saw this randomly while browsing Instagram... and I was seriously shocked
To be honest, when I was listening to their song, I thought that they just made her sing like that but when I heard the encore... ugh

Tzuyu and Mina sang well but Momo... I can't shield her. To be honest, the biggest issue is that she doesn't know her level and has so much greed for singingㅋㅋㅋㅋ she wants to rap too, wants to be in an unit too and even during their concert, she was singing Nayeon's part ㅋㅋㅋ it's hopeless..

To be honest, even Jihyo is considered main vocal in Twice...ㅋㅋ but I don't think that she's as good as Seulgi, Eunha, Jennie or Ryu Sujeong. Nayeon too, she's not as good as other sub vocals like Joy, SinB or Choi Yena

To be honest, even if Tzuyu and Mina improved a lot but they are not considered good.. They are only getting praised for improving because they are in Twice.. They would be considered the worst singers if they were in any other groups. Even so, since they became more confident compared to their debut and are working hard to improve, it's good to see. I think that they'll be fine if they practice a bit more

tbh momo voice isn't the problem it's the nasal. there are other japanese people that do this tho when speaking and singing too. it's like they're speaking/singing through their nose. edit: especially when using high pitch "kawaii" tones

How are you all defending this? Right, because kpop's musicality has deteriorated to the point that dancing is somehow considered just as valuable a skill as singing or rapping. This is music, not a fucking school talent show--they should be musicians. Clearly the fans of TWICE and other groups with subpar vocals don't know the difference.

I'm not disappointed because I've always accepted that TWICE had shit vocals to begin with. You can stan TWICE but don't make excuses for someone who wants to be considered a singer and have parts in songs when she can't sing and makes no effort to learn how to after years of training and performing. Vocalists like Momo, 3/4 of BTS's vocal line, and plenty of idols have no excuse for sounding like shit; even idols who are skilled vocalists like Baekhyun continue to go to vocal lessons. And don't blame JYP, she's a grown ass woman who has money and autonomy to at least get some lessons--Taemin was also similarly told he could never sing by SM's trainers and he went out of his way to learn.

it a faulty technique all weak vocalists place their voices in their nose , it has nothing to do with her being a Japanese

I can't speak for other groups. Yes, BTS are not "perfect" vocalist. But they're not "shit" either. They have unique vocal colors and deliver in front of millions decently. And they do go to some vocal lessons. Tho still not everyone isn't going to be perfect. 

Some non-fans love to drag BTS, but if they were so "shitty" the group wouldn't be as popular and recognized as they are today. Vocal-line themselves are huge part of BTS popularity too.

Hmmm I don't know...there are many Japanese people that do the same thing when talking. I think it could be culturally thing to sound cute.

It might have been a combination of the two. I know Taemin was embarrassed about him not being able to sing and his lines going to other members during recording. He's talked about how even got nosebleeds from practicing singing for so long. Anyway he went from having no lines, being embarrassed in the recording studio, to being the first solo out of all of his members. If he was supposedly that bad and now has a solo career then I am certain that the TWICE girls can get some lessons and improve.

vocal color is subjective ...that can be said for any vocalist in the word and no one can argue about that .... technically V is getting worse with his tongue tension  i don't see how a vocal coach would notice that and not correct it
