Have you ever met a weeaboo/koreaboo?

Was in real life or just over the internet???

If this thread was made before please delete it.

I want to read about your encounters with them.

I'll start:

I met a weaboo on tumblr two years ago.

She used to send me messages 24/7 with Japanese words/expressions and she used to pretend to like every single anime i watched, and always changed her opinions to fit mine and my best friend's (that's hard, since we are completely different so props to her, i guess)

Her annoying habits:

*She was always recommending me yaois, even if i stated many times that i hate the yaoi genre.

* she spammed my submit box of animes i don't care about, screenshots and bad jokes (including rape jokes)

*She commented on my selfies many times saying that i look like a kawaii Japanese ???? (I'm south american).

How it ended:

I started to ignore her, after a month of ignoring her, she noticed and asked me what's wrong and i told her that i didn't like her attitude and that it's okay to have different oppinions, she stopped communicating with me. (She stopped communicating with my best friend weeks before because my friend told her to fuck off).

That's my only weeabo encounter so far. I've never met a koreaboo.

Tell me your weeabo stories, let's talk about koreaboos and weeabos.

The internet is full of weeaboos. I know more than I have fingers and toes. Koreaboos are rarer to find.

I observed weeaboos in real life, they were this group of kids in my high school a few classes lower than me. You don't go near the crazies, you look at them from afar.

They would shout random Japanese words (well, only Kawaii and the occasional sugoi really, and they didn't even pronounce it right 90% of the time), wear cat ears and cosplay costumes to school and pet and rub each other like they were cats.

In my preteen years, I was a weeaboo myself. But since I was so quiet, you wouldn't know that until you started speaking to me. I said "gomen nasai" a lot. Those are dark days that I don't like to recall

Other than that, I met a weeaboo at a con once (surprise) who was like 10. And the friend who introduced me to k-pop is a 100% authentic koreaboo.

That's... creepy  :omg:

They would smash their heads together and rub. Or since you're dutch anyway, kopjes geven, lol.

They must have given each other all those acne bacteria that way as well. I've never seen a weeaboo without acne tbh.

yeah, loads of times. mostly weeaboos but also the odd Koreaboo. I don't really have any specific stories though, just the usual stuff - using Japanese/Korean phrases, praising everything Japanese/Korean and dismissing western stuff, etc

These people are such a mess my best friend is literally a full blown weaboo it's just ughh

I'm no koreaboo either I just like MISS A a lot.

Sadly i was friends with one. She is a mayor weeabo/koreaboo, she doesnt even know japanese but put on her facebook she was fluent in it and fooled some of her friends she is actually fluent in japanese, she also started learning korean and when i told her she was pronouncing it wrong she got pissed. Long story short, i and most people in my classroom saw her pubes accidentally and they started saying that the only thing she had japanese was her pussy because it was hairy lol

Yes there's a few. They're just the people who watched Death Note and then decided they were Japanese and started eating sushi and telling everyone that they eat sushi to show how into Japanese culture they are. However anime, sushi and maybe a koi fish are random kanji tattoo are the extent of their actual connection to Japan. The worst part is that I live in a place that is SO far removed from that culture, it just comes across as idiotic.

I think I might come off as a koreabo to some people on Twitter because 50% of my tweets are about kpop, but I don't go over the top and pretend like I know the language or anything.

even if she is a weeaboo, the things you name seem like it has more to do with her having a immature personality than being a weeaboo logically speaking. Conforming to others opinions and recommending you things after you said you dont like it is a personality trait. Even somebody who doesnt know what a japan is can act like that.

I kind of feel bad for her having that kind of personality and not noticing how annoying it is, hopefully she gets a wake up call and changes soon.

Personally I would have told her what i didn't like about her actions in a mature fashion and then only if she persisted drop her as a friend. But hey thats just me.

As for the question, No i dont have any weeaboo encounters with other people, There was this one friend that always said Kawaii but he was half asian so maybe that doesnt count to you all.

Maybe i get annoyed too easily.

she was pretty annoying and she had weeaboish attitudes, she used to bash on japanese stuff.

I explained her everything, she didn't want to listen. idk what happened to her/or what is she doing now. she was like 13 at the time and my friend was 19 and i was 15, i agree we both should have behaved in a mature manner.

gladly i never went through a weeaboo phase, because i discovered anime when i was 15.

Lol no i think its normal to get annoyed by that, but i would have just explained to her and gave her chance to change.

But since you said you did that i guess you really didnt have a choice but to ignore her in the end..

Hopefully she has changed by now, life can't be easy with that type of persona >.<

I don't want to revisit the dark days. LOL.

When I was between the ages of 9 -11 years old, I developed a strange obsession interest in Manga, Anime, Jpop and all things to do with Japanese sub cultures.. And holy shit was it embarassing.

Looking at my old posts online, I want to die from embarrassment.. I had convinced myself that I could speak it and even convinced othet people that I could speak it, I "learnt" Japanese and all I could do was conversational speech, and read a bit of Kanji. Just remembering how cringe worthy it was, makes me want to hide underneath a rock and die.

It's a good thing I was shy.. And that I realised that it is embarassing to be shouting Sugoi at the top of your lungs with your friends and acting like an anime character.

The shame.

My ex-friend is the perfect example of a weeaboo. She always bragged about her manga, spoke awful broken Japanese, and wore merch to school. Nothing subtle and acceptable, but things like cat ears and such. She even made up a tragic main anime character type backstory saying things like her dad had a drinking problem (he didn't) and saying she was bullied when she was the bully. I knew she was lying about all of it even before she fucked up the stories and proved that she was lying. She was terrible. Once, the girl who was dating a dude she liked was wearing a skirt, and she said she was asking for it and deserved to be raped like um... you're gross pls don't. I had to take her to a con with me for 2 years in a row, and each time, she's crossed so many lines with people it's just beyond humiliating to watch.

But when she got into K-Pop, things escalated. At that point, she was jealous of me for some reason, and started claiming to be me. She copied every single thing about me. My hair, fashion sense, favorite things, some stories from my personal life, etc. It pissed me off so much because who would possibly want my life??? Live your own. Anyway, K-Pop made her a weebkoreeb as I call it. She attempted to speak broken Korean to me and basically became a sasaeng without the actual opportunity to stalk idols.

I'm sorry that was long.

But we're not friends anymore. She crossed the line a while ago when she confessed to liking me and acted like I bullied her because of it, when in reality, I simply said I was flattered and left it at that. Just... ugh.

Am I a Koreaboo? lol I don't know. I did teach myself hangul but mostly from boredom (and so I could read food labels) and I like learning about other cultures. I cook a lot of Korean food...but I also cook a lot of Mexican food and sing songs in Spanish. I say sugoi and kawaii and daebak and gwiyomi. Only thing is that I am a grown woman and I don't do these things in public, only at home playing around with my kids. I dress like a normal person, jeans and a tshirt. I don't think of myself as being obsessed, I'm just a silly person that likes all sorts of different things.

I don't know any weeaboos personally but I've seen them around campus when I was in high school lol. They dressed up in gothic punk/visual kei/anime cosplay style and had these weird fox tails hanging from behind them or attached to their messenger bags.

Sort of like this tail  :imstupid:

They also seem to have a penchant for clothing with animal ears. I've also seen some people wearing those full body animal costumes out into the streets.

I only know one koreaboo from high school. She has an extreme love for kpop (but I think she only stanned one kpop group lol), changed her entire appearance to "kpop style" fashion, took up learning Korean, constantly eats Korean food and like taking "selcas" with all those annoying glitter/flowery stamp things that you can add on.   She's not overbearingly obnoxious or annoying about her "Koreaboo-ness" though, thank goodness

Oh this girl in highschool tried making me read a book of stories she wrote and she tried to make it like a manga. It was weird, all the names were in romanized Japanese and the stories were pretty terrible. The only Koreaboo I knew was my ex friend who was obsessed, then she tried to be white, now she's trying to be Mexican and speaks spanish alll the time.
