Moon Jellyfish 23,232
I don't know what this may or may not mean for Japanese promos but this is surprising

On the top of my head, i can't think of any examples where fanclubs were closed, other than disbandment (doubt that ) or maybe not focusing on the market anymore? Idk, maybe they're switching labels or something. At least in GOT7's case there's a few speculations but Idk about Day6 37 minutes ago, satoori said: i doubt they will stop promoting in japan.. jype is probably about to launch something global like weverse. So what is Weverse exactly? Some of the little tid bits of heard about it reminds me a bit of JYP fan's.

king_seungmin 2,800
i doubt they will stop promoting in Japan since it's an easy yet huge moneymaker for JYP and both groups have had pretty good results so far with their albums and concerts there not TWICE/2PM levels but good enough to keep continuing i think the fanclub membership just wasn't profitable enough to keep it and they would rather focus on the albums/concerts instead

Yeah, sounds like it has quite a bit in common with JYP Fans (though admittingly, it's been a long time since I've actually tried using the platform) But yeah, maybe JYPE is hoping to set up a more user friendly fanclub system for Japanese fans or something 1 minute ago, king_seungmin said: i doubt they will stop promoting in Japan since it's an easy yet huge moneymaker for JYP and both groups have had pretty good results so far with their albums and concerts there not TWICE/2PM levels but good enough to keep continuing i think the fanclub membership just wasn't profitable enough to keep it and they would rather focus on the albums/concerts instead Hmm that could be. Yeah at this point i have doubts that they are just going to abandon the Japanese market, unless it's said otherwise. I don't know about Day6, but GOT7 does pretty well or at least well enough in Japan to make activities worth while.

Not very useful tbh. Which is why many ifans don't use them much anymore. However with Weverse they've been able to re-create the membership like package they did with Jfans/Kfans fanclubs for ifans too. e.g. Ticketmaster opened up tickets for only fans who bought the membership first, then later had general sale. Able to receive magazines and special videos. Plus, available limited series and shows to stream similar to Vlive. It's possible JYPE might update the JYP Fans site or they have a new app planned. Fly_Higher 831
Weird coz DAY6 is managed by Warner and GOT7 is under Sony in Japan so this has to be JYPE's decision. At least for GOT7, their contracts are up soon and well, there are other reasons/rumours that could justify the decision. DAY6's Japanese website isn't even working anymore so I doubt this is only about changes regarding to 'fan-club' system.
CandyCane23049 44,319
Day6's membership ended sometime last year so this info isn't new for them but for GOT7 I don't know what it means but we'll see.

This is the biggest reason for people entering these clubs. In this case, they will either not give concerts in Japan for a long time or they will put another fan club in use. Is it the same for Day6? Yeah I'm curious as to what happened behind the scenes that causes some sort of contract disagreement? I never really kept up with their Japanese discography as much either. But it seemed like they were establishing some sort of footing lately, both in music and fanbase? If they add Japan dates to their regular tours, I suppose the one plus is that Japanese fans may see ot7 performing again instead of ot6. Day6 confuses a bit as well. their last release I think was a best of album last year and I've been told their fanclub membership actually ended already. Their push in Japan wasn't as great as maybe GOT7's but then again, i don't think they were active that long either?
