source: [theqoo] BILLIE EILISH WHO GOT DISILLUSIONED AFTER SEEING WHITE PEOPLE JOIN THE #BLACK_LIVES_MATTER TAG

Right now, people who are protesting have been using the hash tag Black Lives Matter, but a portion of white people have been using "All Lives Matter" and it created a huge mess.
(All Lives Matter is ok if you're using it and you're not a white person. It's an issue when white people use it because it seems like they're saying "So are white lives not important?")

original post: here

1. This is the most refreshing post I've ever read

2. #BlackLivesMatter doesn't mean that other lives don't matter. It means that the society thinks that black people are f*cking unimportant and this is just the blatant fact. The hash tags is just a way to send a wake up call. It only means that black lives also matter. I can't believe I have to explain something that is this obviousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

3. Why am I crying reading her postㅠㅠ Her words are so refreshing

4. Black people died because of discrimination, saying that everyone's life is important when black people are saying that life is important = saying that everyone's life is important when a disabled person claims that their life is important you f*cking dumba*s ㅋㅋ

5. Seeing what is happening, I can understand why Trump became their president

6. Have the people who are telling her to use the word "colored"even read her post? Billie said herself that right now, is the time to act in order to erase racism towards black people, but those dumb white people are attacking her post. So what do they think was the whole point of the protest and the hashtag??ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅜ Ha freaking frustrating... Billie explained her post easily for elementary school kids level, but there are still comments trying to deny what she's saying

7. People who are bullsh*tting with the "colored" word, I feel like they just want to make a joke out of this entire protest. If you're going to talk, at least know what you're talking about

8. You are privileged the moment you're born a white person... I can understand what she's trying to say. It's just a fact that all people would rather be born white. If you look at the police brutality and the type of sentences that black people get, you will understand how much of a privilege it is to be born white, so does it make sense to say "All lives matter"...? Why are black people being discriminated just from existing if everyone was equal?

9. Those f*ckers always try to make everyone's business their own

10. I see people who don't really understand BLM so I'll explain, it's not about their lives being hard, but it's about their right to "life" itself. And it's not about white people's privilege either, it's about the fact that they have to fear for their lives just by walking on the streets because they can be stopped for any reason. Racism against black people has always been deep rooted and now come to the point where their lives are even threatened by just being black. They're doing the protest because they want people to know that they have equally the right to "life" itself. It doesn't mean that ONLY black people's lives matter!!!!!!!!!

This is so refreshing to read after seeing other knetz comment on posts about the protests!

FYI using All Lives Matter is never going to be okay in any circumstance. Literally it only exists to get people to SHUT UP about BLM. Racist white people created it because they didn't want to deal with racism. Also the ALM crowd has AGGRESSIVELY been pushing for BLM to be designated a terrorist organization ONLY because they can't deal with black people discussing and bringing awareness to systematic racism and demanding equality. So fuck them. ALM WILL NEVER BE OKAY.

Goes to show you not all Koreans are ignorant about this.

Kpop fans seriously need to stop acting like Koreans are a hivemind and as if they can't have differing opinions. Nobody goes and accuses Americans of being all racist Trump supporters so why accuse all Koreans of being racist/homophobes/etc.

Exaaaactly. I've seen comments saying "oh Korea doesn't know why" when they do. They all don't have the same mind. I find it rather racist and ignorant to say that all Koreans think the same.

I always liked an analogy a political streamer gave about this situation , that made me understand it perfectly (that pretty much is similar to how Billie says it), when we have things like "Cancer Awareness Month" we are not saying people should not be aware of other sickness, like HIV for example, or that they are any less important, but it's good to be aware of the problem that is cancer and not try to diminish it with something like "Let us have an ALL sickness awareness month instead", same goes for BLM right not they are addressing police brutality on black people but it doesn't mean police aren't violent to other races.

Insightful. I never really (I meant really) understood BLM but I'm learning and starting to understand a little bit more. Thank you for sharing this.

Whoever clowned this person for the crime of admitting that they learned something needs Jesus or a hug or some damn thing. I'm sure they're not alone; the way Billie put it is refreshingly blunt and succinct.

Thank you for your kindness.

Prior to this thread, I was like the people that Billie Eilish criticized because I never took the time to educate myself about BLM movement. When I first heard about BLM movement, I thought "Don't every life matter?" Because of that thought and personal laziness, I did not make an effort to educate myself and buried my head in my own little world while remaining ignorant; I silently ignored and allowed the oppression that exist in the society.

This thread, and Billie Eillish post, is insightful because now I am starting to understand the movement better. It has educated me. Even though I don't understand completely (and I never will since I can never stand in their shoes), it at least has made me more aware of the movement and the viewpoint of the movement. I know I need to put more effort to educate myself.

When ppl fight for Gay Rights NOBODY comes in and parades for Straight Rights.

At this point ppl who don’t get it are racist to the bone

Lol straight people had a parade last year in Boston. They legit had a straight pride parade and if I’m not mistaken were issued a permit. The city at first refused but they sued the city to get the permit and won. However they were overtaken by counter protesters. It was hilarious. They were thoroughly shamed. Ironically they had police in riot gear protecting them. That’s the difference. When racist people protest the police protect them. The US is out of control.

Yep people were PISSED. Like really pissed. It was all over the news and conservatives were whining super hard about expressing their right to a parade for them. Like everyday is a parade for you. You get to live your life without restrictions or hate. You don't have to throw it in the face of people who can't because you are mad they get 1 month, out of an entire year, to celebrate. Like people's priorities are way too messed up.

These are the same people who get up in arms at Black History Month. They will never get it.

apparently black lives matter only when a white individual murders a black individual.  Where is BLM for David Dorn, an African American police captain who was murdered in St. Louis by a looter while trying to protect a pawn shop.  Not a peep.  Or David Patrick Underwood, a black federal agent who was gunned down in Oakland protecting the US court house...or how about the 23 african americans who died over the weekend in Chicago from gun violence...not a peep.
