it's just refreshing to see that the entire world is finally paying attention to the truth after centuries of going through the same pain over and over, and sometimes even being told we deserve it

but it also feels incredibly performative in a lot of ways, seeing the same people who shamed the ferguson protesters and defended police brutality years ago, now suddenly posting their utmost support for blm on social media. idk i guess people change, but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. 

Right, which is why I focused more so on the global witness of people actually seeing what is happening, because even if these celebrities and sudden allies go back on their word years from now, we know that this injustice has reached international headlines and no one can deny the lies that have penetrated every country where previous biased Western media had sunk it's claws. Before, it was that AA's were just stirring up trouble as always and now people see that AA's are and have been trying to defend themselves against a systemic inhumanity. And they see every piece of it - from the begging for life to pleading for help to the unapologetic police force to the lack of charges even now to the differences in autopsy reports. It's like every lie concerning black aggression is coming to light at one time while the world is watching. The world finally has no more excuses because of this moment. I'm just trying to stay in a positive zone because if I think about the fact that it took 400+ years of torture for people to finally acknowledge it....
