Am I the only one who like to play games with the easiest difficulty?

I like hard mode unless it only means making enemies sponges.

For example, in The Last of Us it highly enhances the surviving experience compared to normal.

Agree, if there's no degree of skill involved and it's only more time to kill I don't get the point of higher difficulties. I wouldn't play Skyrim on the highest difficulty but I can see why people do it with DOOM or Dark Souls.

it depends  on the game for fps singleplayer i play on hardest difficulties possible unless it makes the enemy sponges and COD coz  of never ending grenade.

for RPG i play on 2nd hard difficulty coz if i play i with easy i'll literally never open inventory and just take better weapon everytime i encounter them neve bother about potions , skilltree, enchantment, . but if i play with the hardest difficulty i found myself keeps pausing for potions, weapon change, too oftens that it broke the immersion.

for racing games it doesn;t really matter coz almost all of them have Rubber Band AI that they catch up no matter how far behind they are. it just a matter if u fucked up (crashed, spin) or not.

I was going to comment how I tried completing COD on the hardest difficulty only to never get past a level as I always ended up dying to someone creeping up from behind or a grenade landing close by

Not at all!

I'm big into games- especially retro games- and I always find myself asking this whenever I talk with other fans because they always seem to be bragging about how they only ever play games on hard mode or whatever (furthermore, retro games are notorious for being difficult)

I think the fans that play easier difficulties just don't talk about it as much because of the gaming culture, ya know

I've loved videogames for as long as I've been physically capable of playing them, and I still default to the easiest mode whenever I can, because that's what I'd rather play

I have less fun when I'm getting my ass kicked. I'm here to have fun, not look cool, you know? lol

I all depends on the game for me since I hate losing. I hate the soulsborne games, but I actually had some fun with Sekiro even though I kept dying. I also have a bad habit of almost immediately uninstalling a game when it gets hard and I just get fed up with dying contently

I think easy mode takes the "flavor" from games. I usually play it at normal as that is the experience the developers wanted to create. Only go for hard mode on rpgs and jrpgs as those are the genres I have played the most so I want an extra challenge

I'm usually a middle/hard difficulty person on serious games but I also adore casual nintendo games (especially animal crossing and mario/yoshi games) stardew valley, sims, harvest moon etc. Sometimes I'd rather just play to relax and unwind rather than play purely competitively.

It depends on the game. For Subnautica I turned off the survival aspect, I want to craft and build and explore and enjoy the story without needing to drink water every 5 minutes! But for, say, Sniper Elite I'll turn it up and adjust for range/bullet drop, wind, etc to make it a hard challenge.
