the tweets I was seeing had like 20k likes. I know it's not the whole fandom but a good portion are moving like an actual cult

20k but they have like 26m followers on Twitter. That's not even 0.1% of the fandom.

Again, do not generalize everything that goes on on social media platforms! Not every Army share the same opinions.

Well, It's not like I expected people whose faves have never ever made social commentary to understand context behind the whole song and lyrics, which basically criticizes cult and hive mind mentality. K-pop stans seriously have tunnel vision and lack critical thinking. They are too used to listening and watching things that make them comfortable and can't accept anything that might slightly disturb them.  He isn't the only person who has sampled Jim Jones speech. Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Brockhampton, Post Malone all did, but fake outrage is always directed at BTS.

Anyways, Yoongi doesn't give a single fuck, he used it knowingly and said whatever he had to say. Sheeps like y'all are baited and trapped just like that.
No one has the right to censor art. Feel disturbed and be uncomfortable. That's how you should be feeling.

The only sheep here is you. I bet you would jump off a cliff if your oppas asked you to do so.

So many months have past but you're still as condescending as the last time I've seen your post btw. Looks like life isn't getting better for you. Anyway, as other people have said : where exactly in the song is he criticising cults? Please share with us since we're fools who can't read between the lines "#1 on Billboards" and "Next a Grammy".

where my theory bullshitters @?

isn't yoongi the producer of this track though? I saw people saying he even was seen watching a jim jones documentary, so boy did his research before and knew who jim jones was. But props to bighit for actually apologizing and posting a new version quickly.

He wasn’t credited for the production of the instrumental apparently, and no idea about him watching the documentary, but if he did yikes.

Girl shut the fuck up, we tried to tell you that the blind defense is stupid, then y’all kicked us out and silenced us because you can’t handle a different perspective on issues regarding BTS. Yoongi was wrong, bottom line. Hope he sees this post though since you know so much.

bighit should just take the song down and re-release it without the sample. kind of like how cl's solo song on the 2ne1 crush album had a verse from the quran in it, and they got extreme backlash for it. eventually yg took down the song and re-released it without the sample

ofc he's not the producer lol

Suga, I love him, I really do - but YIKES. What the hell? this was stupid on every front.

He needs to explain, apologize, and reflect. Whatever made him decide to use this sample, he needs to take a long hard look at his reasoning and logic because this was messed up. There's no good excuse for this one, as much as I wish there was a nice way to prove that he is innocent, he isn't.. The fact is that he just fucked up, this was messed up, and he needs to rethink his decisions for it.

What is wrong with you?

my "faves" are also BTS, and Suga is one of my ultimate biases ever, but what the fuck? Art shouldn't be censored, sure - does that mean you abandon all humanity and common sense and just throw disturbing, traumatizing shit into your art? NO. Those lyrics were not necessary. Did he really have to quote a mass murderer to get his fucking post across? What's the point of using lyrics about a man who was a mass murderer who traumatized many people, many which are alive today? Just because other artists did it, doesn't make it any more okay.

Also, for the record: Art doesn't have to be disturbing to be good. That's just some special snowflake complex some fans have.

There's no deep context to that song at all. It's not even hard to analyze. It's a watered down version of the title track. A Koreaboo who doesn't listen to hip hop outside of Kpop would think otherwise tho.

Speaking of my fave, Agust D can't hold a candle to him. This feature alone has more depth to it than the entire D-2 mixtape.
