If bighit ever addresses the situation and puts out a statement the sane individuals in the fandom better pray they don’t take dear Frannie the clown’s bullshit theory and approach.

That’s not damage control or a legitimate excuse, that’s a grave you’re digging and imposing on your bias.

I trust BigHit's PR team to come up with the most appropriate response to this. They're good at this stuff.

i gotta love armys trying to shield this with basically "well u dont understand because ur faves never release ~DeEp MuSiC~
as if the rest of the songs lyrics arent

"The ten zeros in my bank account, that money is the collateral for my youth
I got a big house big car big ring, bring anything over, I’ll give it to you, my black card
The bastards that received media benefits were on-air more often than me
And the brats that boast about their money, you have to wonder how much they could’ve actually earnt
Woo woo, yeah, money boasts are only cute to me now"

real deep right there

but please do keep trying to come up with reasons why a sample of a speech of a mass murderer fits these lyrics

so  deep.. so emotional.. so touching ... so revolutionary ... k!ng sh1t!

some armys are losing it they are calling to doxx a black woman on twitter who called him out on it.

here is her tweet

they are crazy

No words... omg this is horrifying, imagine doxxing minors and spreading their personal information just to defend a lost battle for your oppa image, they're rotten to the core.

Maybe what Suga was really trying to do with this song was starting a controversy to reveal how his fans would act like a bunch of psychopathic zealots that would attack anybody in defense of the divine image of the one they have put their faith... just like some of the most crazy believers of Jim Jones cult, if that was his intention all along I will admit he is truly a mastermind.

Well, It's not like I expected people whose faves have never ever made social commentary to understand context behind the whole song and lyrics, which basically criticizes cult and hive mind mentality. K-pop stans seriously have tunnel vision and lack critical thinking. They are too used to listening and watching things that make them comfortable and can't accept anything that might slightly disturb them.  He isn't the only person who has sampled Jim Jones speech. Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Brockhampton, Post Malone all did, but fake outrage is always directed at BTS.

Anyways, Yoongi doesn't give a single fuck, he used it knowingly and said whatever he had to say. Sheeps like y'all are baited and trapped just like that.

Spoiler

I think this is the most disliked post that I've seen in my 1.5 years using One Hallyu lmao. But I spent half of that time as a lurker without account so I couldn't see the reactions. But def the most disliked post since September 2019.

Anyways 43 dislikes and going up is material for the most downvoted post of 2020. Amazing.

I had said this and I will say it again, bts can release an album full of farts and some fans will clap and call it art, just as how they call art this and stupid whoever doesn’t likes it, calling us sheeps, listen guys, You are the sheeps clapping at everything those dudes do as if they’ve cant fuck up like normal humans

I've known Jim Jones through that 2006 documentary. After seeing different views about it I guess it's hard to give one singular interpretation about the song and why he used that sample for that song, even more after he mentioned the song as a "trap", I guess Yoongi is the only person who can explain it, if he ever does.

Won't be here trying to tell people who were affected by this man , as black people and even south koreans, what they should or not feel offended about, for me personaly it would be hard and even weird for not only yoongi but anyone to use Jim Jones as an actual positive reference, my guess is either the reference or a critical one or a ignorant one, which one i dont know and I guess only he does.

Fans who blindly defend and make excuses when a clarification hasn't even been released from the source themselves are some of the most counterproductive fans an idol or celebrity can have. I say this as someone who adores Yoongi, I truly hope he apologises and explains the reasoning for using this sample as it has made people upset and is insensitive. These are really hard and testing times and especially for people of colour who are experiencing a lot of grief right now. I hope he can learn from this, and regardless of his intentions using this kind of content in songs is bound to hurt people.

Army: you just aren’t smart enough to understand deep lyrics~

also army: you guys are sheeps!!!!

if you have to throw around immature name calling, something that seems to be a normal occurrence lately with this fandom on here, it speaks for the lack of argument you truly have.

if y’all are so smart and clever, you should be able to have a legitimate conversation/argument where you can back up your claims and prove your position. not get defensive and reduce to calling people ‘sheeps.’ you shouldn’t have to dismiss it because it fits your situation better.

angrily crying and irrational behavior let’s us know that part of what is being said is true and all of you know it too.

but really, if there’s this huge meaning for sampling Jim Jones then why are y’all so worry? your fave should be able to come out and explain why he felt there was an importance in using it in his song easily. he should also be smart enough to know he might have to deal with offending people and the backlash. If this is such a great thing why are y’all shaking? it speaks volumes tbh.

"Yoongi is not a fool, neither Big Hit."

they are not fools?! are you serious?! sometimes i think the fandom dont know about their own favs at all. are we talking about the same BH and BTS that had a photoshoot in holocaust and used nazi hats, let one of the members using a shirt making jokes about hiroshima and nagasaki bombs and let another made a colorist "joke" in a western press conference (in fact BTS have so much problematic things that i am surprised people are not making expose threads and cancelling the sh*t out of them)
kpop  labels don't care about others cultures neither educating themselves and their groups. they only care about 💰💰 and make the most profit out of it.

how many more blackface and other problematic attitudes towards others cultures you guy will need to see to understand that?!

Yike. Another day, another headache. I’m feeling sorry for armies at this point. I’m not surprised it’s the try-hard member with the fake, cringy tortured artist persona involved in this.

The only reason you notice that is because Armys are a really really big fandom, if not the biggest fandom active on social media. Thus, things tend to go out of control, especially on Twitter. And even if it might seem like a lot of people are trying to defend or reason his action, it is most likely just some small part of the fandom.

Anyways, an explanation from Yoongi's or Bighit's side would be good tbh.

the tweets I was seeing had like 20k likes. I know it's not the whole fandom but a good portion are moving like an actual cult

bighit should just take the song down and re-release it without the sample. kind of like how cl's solo song on the 2ne1 crush album had a verse from the quran in it, and they got extreme backlash for it. eventually yg took down the song and re-released it without the sample

honey, no one is arguing that it's not art. however, art is always criticized. just because it's suga doesn't mean he's immune from criticism. there are times when it's blind hate directed towards bts, and that i cannot understand. but you have to expect when you include a sample like this, it's going to be divisive. some people will not like it, period.
