till today i was still stuck in Rainism&Hip song glorious days, blissfully unaware of his lyrics and thinking he was the IT man, marrying Tae Hee and what not. but good to know he is a good sport. that I-LAND show just got that bit more interesting lol

Nah I never heard of it lol, thanks for sharing. Tbh i only know a few Rain songs. Usually the ones covered by idols. Rain use to be under JYP back when Bang PD was one of the main producers. The I-LAND will be something for sure...hahaha XDDDD

Maybe I was just blinded because I'm a fan, but I thought Rain was always pretty well respected. So many idols look up to him and named him as their role model. I knew that people thought Gang was cringy. I never realised it was to that extent though lol. The thing is Rain was never big headed or marketed himself as a 'world star'. It was the media who dubbed him as one so it made me sad when people would use that as a way to criticise or mock him.

I been following this meme lol it's funny hahahaha glad Rain can laugh at it. Watched the entire vid and they are missing some golden pieces of the meme such as that long list of stuff Rain did in his performances.

But can we talk about the lyrics of the song @3:22 ??? Lol what.

When Gang came out I didn't like it and pretended it didn't exist.

It's just DKDKTV Danny is doing clickbait video about him since Rain was announced as a producer for I-Land and got attention from new kpop fans who don't know him.

Rain was bashed the most for his army controversy, not for his music. Well that song of 2017 kinda cringy lol.

hmm maybe it was overshadowed by Se7en's army controversy but i can't even remember any of Rain's scandals. don't think it's a "bash", more like what worked for him in 00's didn't much in 10's -> got memed -> owned it. still got it though

well he didn't visit room salons as Se7en did, he just used extra vacation days to date Kim Tae Hee during his enlistment or smth like that... I even don't remember the details. Rain was well-respected artist in the 1st half of 2010s though, I remember him visiting the shows like 'Strong Heart', his songs were covered by kpop idols of 2nd gen a lot etc. And I believe it's K-media who started to call him 'world star' first.

but I agree, Rain of 2010's felt outdated, it's actually so funny that song became a meme and did some good thing for him.

Yass king

Now Gang is entering to Melon Daily top 100

He was so famous during earlys 2000 and he became asian it boy thanks singer carreer and success of kdrama Full House around all Asia

He was the first korean artist in make world tour and during his peak was sucessful in movies, music, cfs and tv

I think actually kpop don't have a guy like Rain succesful in all areas

The reason why media market him as world star was his success around Asia during earlys 2000 became Rain name knowing in Korea, China, SEA, Japan (in China and Thailand he was superbig) and he tried to act in Hollywood in movies like Ninja Assasin adding he was one of the most searchest names in the internet of 2006/7 and Time recognized him for this

And he is role model for kpop it boys like Taemin, Baekhyun, Jungkook, Shownu, Bambam

But I admit I wish him return to work with JYP producing a new bop for him but I think I-Land will be an interesting experience (it's a mystery who are the trainees)

And remember all earlys 2000 stuff are starting to be trendy again

Holy shit, he basically became a parody of himself. I didn't know his lyrics were so cringey. Idk what's worse, if that Gang song or the other about beating a guy that's "touching his precious girl". And to think he released those songs well into his 30s...
