Netizens petition the Blue House to revoke BTS Jungkook's Cultural Merit medal

original post: nate

1. [+6192, -265] Why did he even film a public service announcement about social distancing?

2. [+5749, -373] Everything in the petition is true. Even as a fan, I have nothing to say. I hope this is the last time he makes the group’s name dirty.

3. [+5473, 373] Jungkook-ah, I’m so embarrassed of you as a fan.. ARMYs, please stop with the ridiculous shields. He did wrong, let’s all just reflect

4. [+459, -26] He always goes around causing trouble. One day he’s going to get caught up in a big scandal. I hope he wakes up and behaves himself going forward.

5. [+439, -17] Does he think BTS will stay popular forever? He’s making the group and the members look cheapㅋㅋㅋㅋ I hope he reflects on his decisions right nowㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

6. [+320, -17] Jungkook caused a lot of trouble ㅠㅜㅜ He should apologize and reflect.. Fans please don’t shield him

7. [+287, -14] Didn’t NCT’s Jaehyun also get a medal from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in October 2019? Where is SM? Why is Jung Kook the only one who gets hate?

8. [+224, -13] Why does his name keep appearing in the news of scandals~ He’s worsening the image of the members…

Lol ok...uhmmmm

So BTS were asked to make a national video talking about social distancing back when the virus outbreak was bigger in Korea. They also have talked about following the guidelines that are given by the government and KCDC also.

Now haters tell me exactly where Jungkook went wrong again? I - can't lol

It's fine to not personally support someones decision to go out. That's fine. We all have our own thoughts and perspectives about things.

But to drag him for what? following the guidelines? Now that's ridiculous to me.

He made a mistake and it is fair enough to hold him accountable for this. I myself admit that I was disappointed due to this being very close to home, but this is going way too far. The targeted hatred towards the 97 line is becoming harassment and bullying. They claim that Jungkook must apologise, but if that were to happen, he would still be getting dragged just like the others. I now firmly believe that these people care not for what occurred, they were just looking for an excuse to spread their hatred and vitriol. Jungkook can't win no matter what, because these people are just looking for any excuse to shit on him. and don't get me started on the faux fans pretending they are disappointed...disgraceful.

he messed up, but some of these "fans" are doing the most. the only thing i hate more than delusional fans are FAKE fans. im not even an ARMY, but some fans from other fandoms are using this as an excuse to drag BTS down and its disgusting that theyre relishing in someone else's downfall. if the government decides to do something, thats their prerogative. not the fans'. these people need to get a life... smh

who's the law in this country? the actual law or the public? who's the judge?

people break the guidelines everyday but since he's a celebrity he will be treated like a most wanted criminal on every witch-hunter list

public figures are always held to a different standard.  Always has been and always will be...surprised people are shocked by this.

When you see everything that is happening in Korea and this is what these people choose to focus on?

HE DOESN'T GET ENOUGH BACKLASH SINCE HE'S A BG MEMBER!!!
Sure it was silly but the overreaction and the rampant and blatant hypocrisy is through the roof. Regular citizens were also going out as the situation seemed to return to normal. I hope they keep that same energy with their government for allowing such places to be open.
Also, what's the correlation with the cultural merit medal ??? Let's make a deal then, give back the trillion wons worth of economic impact he and the other members generated.

those people are just so jealous of celebrities success and the fact that a successful idol can have a good livelihood without doing the same boring office job 8 hours a day five times a week thats why they focus more on those idols rather than focusing on their own problems

I sorta agree with this, especially the knetzs who always say stuff about, "Who cares about celebs" but they always take their sweet time commenting about how they don't care about a celeb. I have always saw it as more jealousy.

yet 97 going out didn't break any mandatory guidelines. and they can't pinpoint any thing after the new announcement either on jungkook. that's the tea of it all. it's the exact reason some antis are going so hard on him because they know at the end of the day he didn't do anything wrong. all they can do is be loud and try to spread a fake narrative.

Right? I'm always confused when people say BGs never get hate (especially if they're popular) and they get away with everything. Jungkook (and the rest of 97 line) are getting TONS of hate and being harrassed, while for example Gyuri that was exposed for going to a club too was hated for a couple of days and then it blew over quickly.

Not saying that what any of these idols did was right but this is exaggerated and it's not like they did anything technically illegal.
