If you do want to lose weight make sure to go about it in healthy ways. Don't restrict your calorie intake too much and make sure to get proper nutrition.

Perhaps if you are already skinny it would be better to do exercises to make your waist slimmer/more defined rather than dieting. If you do exercises for your obliques it can help make your waist look slimmer.
