[Trending] Popular Norwegian teen drama SKAM to get a Chinese remake

tbh i dont get the reason for all these "remakes". truth is you could copy paste most of skam's plot (just make it more culturally relevant/realistic to the setting) and it still wouldn't be plagiarism, cause there's nothing about the original that's really out of the ordinary for this genre.

the entire premise of the show literally hinges on taking teen drama tropes that have been done to death and then reconstruct them to be more relatable to actual teenagers.

If SKAM takes "tropes" than anything can be considered a trope.

The truth is SKAM is out of the ordinary in that it takes "tropes" and peels everything away to unveil the chacracters feelings, dynamics and psyche, dealing with the very core of human emotion. It's relatable (not only to teenagers) because it doesn't deal with teenage drama on the surface, but with the nature of humans on a raw level. Not to mention the manner in which these stories are told, with a sensitivity, a gentleness and an artistry that are also very much out of the ordinary.

That being said, I don't get the point of the remakes, other than to make money.

Lovleg was a better SKAM remake than any of the real remakes so far.

yeah that's what i said... they take common tropes and deconstruct them to something more real and human. but that's not a unique story or concept in itself. you don't need a permit to try and conjure up that same emotion.

my point is if you keep too much of the original story it'll no longer be relatable to your target audience because of cultural differences, but if you remove all of that then it's no longer similar to the original so why even call it a remake??
