Belkiss 22,803
or maybe my stressful life is making me feeling so but I once felt the same thing back in 2012 and I became a casual follower of kpop, just checking YT mvs here and there and I only came back in 2016 so I'm not sure but the thing is, I no longer have the same level of passion or energy. Well I still stan my faves, that's for sure but IDK, I'm not that passionate about the whole thing anymore and this kinda sucks because I don't want to feel this way , it's not like I have another alternative of music genre that I love Edited May 6, 2020 by Belkiss 5 2
rananicolee 10,264
That's the same with me. I love my faves but I'm just over finding new groups and artists to listen to. I'm over the craze of kpop. Luckily, I have my metal bands and that genre to still be passionate over. 1

Tarted 378
I've been into kpop for 8 years now... and my passion for it have ups & downs. when I think i'm over it, suddenly a group or specific release brings me back in... Just give it a time, maybe you'll even find other genres you may enjoy 6

Punk_PrincessXX 27
Trying to keep up with all the comebacks and variety shows tired me out. Now I just listen to the music. It's less stressful.

freya 7,202
I havent been actively involved in fandom, watched any lives or run EPs since 2017 and even then I watched them once in awhile. Life has taken me away and it's been in good ways for me at least. I'm glad to have lost some of that passion and at the same time I miss it. It was evidence of my youth in a way.

YeoChin Fairies 1,989
It definitely got boring as hell for me when my ultimate bias Gfriend past the huge peak. I was bored as hell with big 4 dominating everywhere. I started questioning don't these stans ever get bored with how predictable everything is? What's even so exciting about "wowihdbe X big 3 gg released a hit hit big nlah blah blah" . After 8 or 9 years of being a Kpop stan, I only get shocked if big 3 groups don't do well LMAO. I'm greatful that Apink and Oh My Girl released hits this year, if April's LALALILALA follows it's continues rise and turns into another hit even better. The only thing which kept me in Kpop through years were these plot twists. Difference was this tho, back in 2nd generation so many non big 3 ggs hit big and released hits. This generation.... Gfriend and Mamamoo were the only ones. Momoland went downhill after 1 hit and who knows if the same won't happen to Oh My Girl. Compare it to 2nd generation: 4minute, kara, secret, T-ara, AOA, Girl's Day, EXID, Brown Eyed Girls, Apink , Crayon Pop (one hit wonders) etc etc. Edited May 7, 2020 by YeoChin Fairies 2
lilkay45 147
I made a post about this more than a year ago maybe?? I feel the same as you. I only keep up with my favs now and even then I’m not as updated. Many of the music outside of my favs, don’t really interest me as much. I think it may be for the attachment to me, which is why It’s harder for me to get into new music. It’s fine that I’m not as passionate about music in general anymore. I’m the same as you, I don’t really have another genre of music I like. So when I felt that last year and a bit of this year, it felt daunting. Now I don’t try to force myself to listen to new music unless I hear a song I that interest me and/or when my favs do recommend a song or list their favorite songs on interviews or their own playlist, I give it a chance. If I like it, I’ll add it to my playlist. If I don’t, then I’ll pass. As for content, I don’t really watch vlives and run /vapp variety episodes to begin with, so I don’t keep up with that before. It wasn’t until when the lockdown started that I started watching vlives live. I live 14 hours behind Korean time, so when they do their vlives, I’m usually sleeping. But now since I sleep late since I don’t have work for the time being, I sometimes catch them live and it’s refreshing to see BTS do crafts. But if it’s usually like interviews or interesting videos the upload on their channels, I might watch it.
Mami3chan 7,210
Kpop have become more boring than ever and for some reason Korean variety shows have also gotten worse in the recent years there's not much going on for idols in term of TV stuff

Clint 27
There is no spice or variety in Kpop anymore tbh. I blame BTS fans and their crazy dedication. 1 2
Floatie 654
I feel you and I think I'm there as well. The combo of this pandemic and work is wreaking havoc on my attention span. This time of year is usually always super exciting for ARMY because of the BBMAs and the US promo cycle that comes with it but that's gone. Also their tour is "postponed" and probably won't happen at all. This year really fucking sucks and there just isn't a lot to get excited about so much of my attention is going to other things. I will always love and support BTS and perhaps I'm a spoiled ARMY but... This year sucks.
Reckoner 6,692
the music's been shit since like 2018 with the exception of a few good singles. 2019 was the worst year in kpop musically (and otherwise really)
Thatoneuser 3,230
Kpop comes and goes for me. My faves stay eternal, but the genre comes into my life and then leaves it periodically.
