Attempts to Keep Luo Yunxi and Chen Feiyu's Drama Immortality Under Wraps Foiled by Paparazzi Photos

With the recent successes of BL adaptations, there's been a lot of hype around Immortality 皓衣行 which stars Leo Luo Yunxi and Arthur Chen Feiyu in the drama adaptation of The Husky and His White Cat Shizun. Filming has started on April 24, 2020 in Hengdian World Studios and in order to prevent leaks, the staffs' cellphones were confiscated and the entire set was covered under a green fabric. However, it seems that their efforts have been in vain as paparazzi set photos can be found going around online from day 1. 

In a statement from the Immortality crew dated April 29, 2020, it was revealed that in the first few days of filming, a large number of daipai (paid photographers) and sisheng (obsessive fans) have trespassed into the filming location and damaged the props and scenery. It has resulted in rework and increased difficulties for the crew, thus affecting the filming progress. The statement further discourages any profiteering done by sisheng and daipai and asks for everyone to give some time, space and respect for the hard work of everyone involved. 

 

I have to say, their methods are ridiculously extreme with daipai shown to be standing on excavators just to get a shot of the set which is basically covered except for one side that's facing a mountain. Some are hiding in the bushes too!

Does China actually have BL? Isn't it more bromance with innuendo? I think the last official BL they had was 'Addicted' before that got pulled and censored. I feel for the fans that want more, hence why i think a lot of Thai BL is really popular nowadays. Also, where is Japan on all this, they practically created the genre...but not so many series. I did love the Ossan in the sky one, tho.

Obviously a "real BL" I guess you mean explicit, would never pass the censorship. Fans watch thai or taiwanese BL for that. 

I'm not an expert but I do think there are some japanese BL dramas and especially movies recently.

There’s 2 Japanese BL being filmed right now or in production. There’s HIS movie and His prequel drama that came out this year. There’s also anime that are coming out this year.
